However, when it comes time to practice he notices that Chae-rin knows nothing about dancing. It turns out that there has been a bait-and-switch and Chae-rin's older sister is the talented dancer. With only three months until the championship, can Young-sae turn his quiet, shy partner into a world-class dancer...?

You'll enjoy this more on the second viewing!
OK, this script could have easily become a 5 star movie, but the supporting cast was too weak to adequately support the story, and the editing wasn't that great. Those shortcomings alone would easily make it worth only 3-stars, if not for the two leads. They really carried the film. Moon Geun-Young was absolutely fantastic, and all by herself adds another star to this film.I try not to judge a film by its first impression, in case I'm not seeing the film for what it is. I've watched Innocent Steps three times, and the simple act of fast-forwarding through a few clunky scenes makes this truly worth 4 stars. The fast-forward skips the worst parts of both the supporting cast and the poor edits. So, watch it once to find the weak scenes, then watch a second time to fast-forward through them to enjoy all the great scenes.

A very sweet love story
There are a million love story movies out there, but some are more special than others. The actress in this one has such a young, sweet, innocent quality that overshadows the somewhat predictable plot, and makes watching this a very enjoyable couple of hours.

Cute but underwhleming plot
This was one of those movies where the lead actors' mutual talent mostly distracted you from the terribly written and produced, very 2000's-ish storyline. The dancing was gorgeous, the romance was sweet, though, again, not written all that well. Their acting was pretty much was held the movie together. That, and the well executed dancing routines. Those were mesmerizing, and the costumes were pretty. Otherwise, this was pretty illogical and sloppily written. Sufficient to pass the time, but not something I'd go back and watch for nostalgia.

It has really good points and really bad ones.
The lead couple make the movie. What drove me crazy was how the thugs in the movie just got away with everything. I wanted to jump into the screen and bring justice. The dance training was nice to watch and the leads are good actors. Unfortunately, the male lead was written the way he was. I would have enjoyed a movie where they kicked a** on the thugs and left them in the dust as they succeeded. I guess that will have to be another movie.

unlike alot of other Korean movies, in a good way !
I've seen a few other Korean movies that had alot of over the top slapstick humour that made me want to cringe. This movie really surprised me as it had a very light touch of humour added to the serious story line making it a sweet endearing movie. No the story isn't that unique, but I liked the performances, they seemed believable & I also liked that the characters were likeable. Some Korean movies have the characters crying for alot of the movie...which gets a little old and bogs down the movie. This had the right amount of sadness and gave the viewer a nice ending. The writers were smart & didn't add unnecessary sex into the story, which once again proves that characters in love don't have to have sex or even kiss to show an enjoyable romance. Also, there wasn't alot of foul language(though they do drop a few 'F' bombs).

Almost like American movie: "Green Card".
This film would have gotten a 5 star rating if the thugs script were not included. This was a terrible distraction to such a delicate love story. Great acting by the lead characters; I was brought to tears of both sadness and joy as the actresses and actors brought this story to life.

Fantastic!
Romantico ben recitato ! Non e' affatto un film scontato! Molto convincente la giovane attrice che ora e' una star della Corea del sud!
