Wolfcraft 2592405 Quick Change # 8 Screw Setter

Over 60 years of woodworking I've never used better tools to drill pilot holes and counterbore for screws than these by Wolfcraft. The countersink portion is sharp and produces little or no tearout. The drill bits are tapered to reflect the shape of a wood screw, and the length of each bit is adjustable. The drill bits do break in hardwoods, however, and I wish it were easier to find replacements. I currently have the screw setters in nos. 6, 8, 10, and 12 along with one replacement bit for each. I use them in nearly every project.

As a professional woodworker I've used most of the countersink bits out there. I often drive screws at an angle which most countersink pilot bits aren't very good at at but the Wolff tapered pilot bits excel at both straight and angled entries. The countersink end cuts a smooth clean taper. While not the best bits for mounting a depth stop on to I don't use them so this isn't an issue for me. These are great tools. I use them a lot. I've marked them down just a bit because the hardened bits break easily if you're not careful. It usually happens on the most important/visible screw hole too, where digging out the remainder is really painful. I keep a few spares around so I can keep working.

These are the best countersinks on a market. Very sharp and easy to work with. Too bad you can not get it in the store and not many options online . I always buy few extra. Highly recommended

I have been using several different types of countersinking bits over the last 8 years, and all others are junk compared to this one. These bits are an expensive, but its well worth the money. This bit will drill the pilot hole, then the hole to sink the head of the screw quick and easy. Ive been using these Wolfcraft bits for about 4 or 5 years. As long as these bits are made, I will keep buying them.

This is by far the best countersink bit I have ever used in 30 years of construction. They are becoming harder and harder to find and when found the shipping is outrageous. That said, you can not beat these if you can find them.

This is a great product. It is hard to find, so when my husband needs it we order a lot of them. The only thing is shipping isnt't real quick. So if you need this plan ahead. We learned that after the first order.

I have have tried everything that is offered for countersink bits and found that this is the sharpest, making clean and precise holes. They are a bit fragile however and will break after much constant and extended use as they dull. Have another as a backup on big jobs....
