First and Second impressions...
I’m not a seamstress, quilter buff or anything close. Just an average retired guy who has had enough with poor laundry service and a nagging fiancée that wants an iron. Onward: I searched the web to see if I could find any compelling reason to choose one model over another when I concluded the i500 would be my pick. Initially, I had a tough time justifying the cost of any of Reliable Ironing products until I dug deeper. On Arrival I was pleasantly surprised with the build quality and craftsmanship. Since some have asked, the measurements of the tank are: 14-inches L. x 8.5-inches W. x 8-inches H.Things I like…• EASE OF USE. Initially, I thought this was going to be a bit of a hassle but surprisingly, it works very well and without any compromises. Now, I did manage to trip the boiler protection circuit by allowing the water to get too low. You simply take a coin (preferably a nickel) unscrew the switch-cover on the lower right-hand side and press the button. In fact, I'm glad I opted for the 500 because I'm using considerably more steam than I anticipated.Quick Connects: This single addition transforms the Reliable i-Series from a dedicated Ironing Station to what is effectively a Steam System Hub. With the i500 I have the option to add accessories to clean other things around the home, helping to rationalize the investment. The Reliable website shows ‘Related Items’ that include a Steam Gun, Steam Wand and Steam Brush with two different heads. I like that I can remove the hose from the tank so I can drain any standing water after use. I also like the pressure gauge that shows the state of the system during use.Things I don't like…• The electrical connector on the tank is made of plastic and compared with the rest of the components it's inconsistent with the quality build. While the iron cable connector is also plastic, at least the customer can order a new iron for self-replacement. However, if the tank connector fails, you're stuck!• The inexpensive zip-lock tie that secures the hose to the hanger spring is a rather cheap looking set-up. It wouldn't take much to come up with something less homemade looking, especially considering the cost of the system.Despite it's attributes this product it’s definitely not for everyone, as the unit cost is higher than my comfort zone. When I began my search I was looking to save on expenses while reducing the pain of damaged garments and poor results. Even so, I will have to use this thing' with extreme devotion to make sense of it.

BUYER BEWARE
I ordered this iron via Amazon through Balkowitsch Enterprises, Inc. Just under $1,000. Almost 2 months after use (exactly 1 month after the return window), the actual iron (not the steamer) quit heating and then quit working altogether and from the very start, it had this awful smell (which I dismissed). I have followed all the instructions exactly as provided. I tried all the troubleshooting suggestions via the Reliable website and the manual to no avail. I contacted Balkowitsch via Amazon and received a quick response: go to Reliable as it's under warranty (I question this response!!!). Well, that has been frustrating to say the least. Their Support department will not answer calls. Sent them an email (which their voicemail suggests). Didn't receive any acknowledgment. Decided to call their Sales department. Wouldn't you know, they answered right away. They took all my information down and forwarded my initial support email to their Support contact. Their Support department has been the most frustrating part of this entire purchase (she has asked me to send the purchase invoice twice only after I inquired on the delay in response). I run a very small business and invested in this iron and loved it right until it stopped working. I invested what is a lot of money for me for this iron. If you name your product "Reliable", we expect it to be just that.

IT is HOT....as steam should be
This is the forth machine and the highest up the ladder I've gone so far. All the units work great out of the box. I'm hoping this one lasts. I even use distilled water in it religiously. IF you buy one, get the warranty. I have not seen one last beyond 4 years. IT WORKS UNTIL SUDDENLY, IT DOES'T.

Great performance for a little unit. Will only last 2.5 hours of heavy use.
We bought this for a small sewing production space we have. The steam quality is great and everything works as advertised. The only issues I have is that it doesn't have a visual water level that you can see how much water is left in the tank in order to avoid having it use up all the water and trip the reset switch. Once the low water indicator lights up it almost immediately trips the reset switch. From there it takes about 20 min to vent refill and wait for the unit to heat up again. Also the placement of the reset switch is not the most convenient.Realistically you will only get about 2.5 to 3 hours of heavy ironing use before you have to refill the water tank. If you plan to have someone ironing during the full day, I suggest looking at the i700. But if you don't mind having to stop ironing for 20 to 25 min about two to three times a day to refill the water tank then this will work.

Its gauge stops working and so as the pressure only after 3 months of use!
In just 3 months of usage and its gauge stops working and the pressure has become weaker as well!I had a much older model before beated to death and still worked, they don't make products like the old days anymore! So buyers be aware!

Good Investment
I use this daily in my millinery studio and it heats quickly, puts out a lot of steam, and enables me to work quickly and efficiently. It was expensive but I was tired of killing non-professional iron/steam stations. The Reliable was absolutely worth the price and I would definitely recommend.

Seller misleading
1) No more than 2 hours continues steam (vs as stated 4 hours). 2) never reached to 50 PSI when operating pressure (about 20PSI).Plus. Never buy from Reliable because you wouldn’t get full refund even you return an unopened package.

I like it
It’s good. I wish i could see the water level from outside the tank because the spout it comes with to check is really inaccurate but other than that i like it.
