Hard-to-Find 80s Smooth Soul Duo Compilation
Swing Out Sister is a 80s pop duo featuring soulful smooth female vocal best known by 1986 hit BREAKOUT. Impression of BREAKOUT was such that they have been regarded in the U.S as one of the one-hit wonders. Naturally their works mostly imports are very difficult to get in the U.S. If you like good ol' Motown soul and love Sade or Earth Wind and Fire, you will surely love their music.Best of Swing Out Sister released in 1996 is their first official compilation including major hits in UK and US. Other than Breakout, you may have heard their second U.S single TWILIGHT WORLD and radio-friendly SURRENDER. But what makes this compilation worth purchasing is the tracks from their second album "Kaleidoscope World" such as YOU ON MY MIND one of my favorite Swing Out Sister songs, WHERE IN THE WORLD somewhat similar to Sade style. WAITING GAME and FOREVER BLUE from their second album are also nice easy listening songs.Even after their music had been forgotten in the US they keep on generating hits in the U.K until mid 90s.Verdict: Rare Import Stuff but Worth Digging Out!

Great singles compilation but for this price I would expect a double CD or a nice booklet
