Q: Do these pants make noise when you move around in them?

They make a little noise but I think as they get worn the noise will go away

Q: Do these get softer with washing and wear. They feel pretty scratchy out of the bag?

Yes they do get softer, but I always wash before I wear anything, so I can't say they were scratchy

Q: are these good for heat?

I wear them n the South and they keep me comfortable when temps are in the 50’ & 60’s.

Q: Are these machine washable?

Yes, but I don't dry my clothes if there is the slightest risk of shrinking,so I don't know about shrinking. They need a bit of ironing when they air dry. Love them for golf! Very comfy!
