Extra length means extra protection
Bought this cord to lengthen the area of coverage of my water sensor. YoLink water sensors are my preferred brand and this extra cord allows me to get more area protected with little added cost. Just plugged it in and ready to go. These cords are easy to test by getting a small area of the cord damp, the alarm goes off then just allow the cord to dry out and you are assured it is ready to alert you of a water leak.

Detected A Very Small Dishwasher Leak
This has already paid for itself. I currently have sensors throughout my home, but not in the dishwasher area. I bought this extension so I could run it from under the sink into the dishwasher space. I have an older dishwasher that does not have built-in leak detection, and was concerned about an undetected leak damaging my newer cabinets. In another home, I had a small undetected leak that did extensive damage to the cabinets. I connected this to the cord already protecting the area under my sink and ran it through the hole for the dishwasher hoses, then along the base of the cabinet. I then ran the dishwasher, and after if was about mid-cycle, the alarm went off. I immediately checked under the sink and around the dishwasher and couldn't see any sign of moisture, so I then pulled the leak detector cord back out through the hole, and sure enough, the last two inches of the cord were damp. After closer inspection, I found a tiny rusted through area on a seam of the dishwasher that was the source of water. There was no water that could be seen leaking out from under the dishwasher, it was hidden and would not have been detected until the leak got worse, and at that point would have done damage to the cabinet. The sensor did it's job, and I'm so happy a product like this exists.

One of several cables that had a break
Of the 5 cables I bought to get wider sensory coverage, one had a break and exposed wires near the male connector end. It was causing no detection of water leak.

registers alarm quickly with a small amount of water. You have to let it dry before using again. Dries fairly quickly. BE CAREFUL NOT TO COMPRESS IT (do not step on it or slide an appliance over it or it will break)
