Great product to check Vitamin D levels
I recently used this Vitamin D test kit and was very impressed with the overall experience. The product was extremely easy to use, thanks to the clear and detailed instructions provided, which made collecting the blood sample straightforward. The guidance ensured that the process was stress-free, even for someone who might be worried about getting it right.Posting the sample to the labs was simple, and I was pleased with how quickly the results came back. The results were easy to understand, which made it effortless to interpret whether I was deficient in Vitamin D or not. This is a great product, especially for anyone in the UK looking to monitor their Vitamin D levels during the winter months when deficiencies are more common. Highly recommended for peace of mind and managing your health!

Awful customer service
The home test is easy enough. The problem was getting the results. They did not arrive by email so I contacted customer service by email. I was told the results had been sent, but when I asked for them to be sent again, it was radio silence. So then I called customer service. I was told the results would be resent. But I never received them. I emailed again explaining the situation and asking if I could get the results a different way. Again, it was radio silence. So, I have paid for a test and, seemingly, have no way of getting the results. Look, I accept issues can happen. But Randox's customer service leaves a lot to be desired, I would say.

Easy to use & understand
I found this easy to use, doing the test on my partner.Quick results:We did the test on a Thursday (put in a postbox to leave by 5pm) and unexpectedly received the results 5pm on Sunday. Our experience:The first time I didn’t press quite hard enough with the lancet and the blood flow was slow. The second time I pressed a bit too hard and the blood flow was FAST! Filled the tube in seconds. He’d drunk plenty of water and just had a shower so was very warm and blood must have been flowing well. You get 3 lancets to work with. I’ve done plenty of these tests and never needed more than that.Test needs to be posted Monday- Thursday and there’s a little card with details that link you register your details online in the mean time, so that they can contact you with test result. Results layout:Easy to understand with a clear number and also an arrow showing where you are on a simple sliding scale with colours indicating deficiency (red), insufficiency (amber) optimal (green) and high (red).

It's important to understand that this kit is not a 'blood spot' test.
It's important to understand that this kit is not a 'blood spot' test. You need to prick your finger with a lancet and then drip blood from your finger into a little tube (phial), then post it off to the Randox Lab for testing. My photo gives an idea of what's in the box.I'm used to doing these sorts of postal tests from other labs, so was familiar with the process. But if you've not used one of these kits before, do read through the comprehensive instructions, and watch the helpful online video. Once you've opened the little glass phial, there's no going back!Having prepared your package according to the instructions, you need to register it online with Randox. This is very important because if you don't do this, you won't get your results!Your test results are then emailed to you inside a secure PDF (You need to enter a password to open it).It makes sense to do your test and post it off early in the week, so that it gets to the lab well before the weekend.I did my finger dripping early morning and dropped it off at my local RM depot in the prepaid 24 hour delivery envelope around 9.30am on a Tuesday. My results were in my inbox on Thursday evening. I was pleased at the speed of service.Result is shown very clearly with your actual number, and indicator along a red, amber, green line to help you see where your number is within the test range. Plus advice on whether or not you need to take any action to remedy deficiency or excess. My only gripe is that your blood vial has to be sent to the Randox lab inside the box that it came in. This means you must take it to a Post Office or RM Depot, because the box is too fat to fit into a standard post box or priority mail box.

Clear instructions, convenient home testing for Vit D deficiencies. Need a lot of blood
You get a little pack with everything in it that you will need. You just supply your blood!Inside are 3 lancets (for stabbing your finger/s), a blood collection tube, an alcohol swab, a dry swab, lots of plasters in case you run amok with your lancets, a little protective packet to safely house your tube of blood while in transport, and an envelope to enclose it in.To ensure blood sample reaches them while still useable, it recommends taking your sample between Monday to Thursday. Also, it recommends taking the sample in the morning and posting before noon same day. Since you have to fast for 6 hours before taking the sample, you are probably going to want to do this first thing in the morning. You do need to drink 2 glasses of water 30 minutes prior to sample collection as well.Instructions are excellent on how best to get the most blood out which is important because quite a large amount is required. See photo of collection vial in a soup spoon with pound coin for size reference.Useful test at affordable price.
