Advertised size is for stop lip on the cap
Fit perfectly on my 7000 pound trailer axles the outside diameter of the lip is the advertised size the cap. The diameter of the cap that fits in the axle is around 2.5 I don’t have a micrometer but if you measure your cap diameter and it is close to 2.5 inches this one should fit.
