As good as being there.
If, like me, you have seen the show live on stage in London, then you will love this performance recorded live at The Royal Albert. This is a full costume performance with wonderful sets and acting and singing that could not be bettered. It is as good as being there. Forget the 2004 movie which was a miserable imitation of the live show, this live performance is FANTASTIC. Every cast member is brilliant but most of all the performances of Ramin Karimloo and Sierra Boggess as The Phantom and Christine is sublime, simply the best ever. This is a must have DVD.

Excellent item...
If I'd been able to attend this performance I would have (after viewing this recording...). A truly great performance... and well shot for television. The heroine's solo in the second half is truly a show stopper; and well deserved the long applause from the audience - which "stopped the show for a minute or so...".The post performance events - what happened on stage with assorted past cast members is equally enjoyable.Having seen this show twice in the past (live) this concert is a worthy archive to have.

Very good performance and watching this DVD is almost as good as watching the real thing.
This is such a good show. It might not be as good as being there in person to watch it, but the way it is shot, you feel like you're part of the audience and at times, almost as if you've got front seats. The singing, acting, costumes, set designs, dancing, the cast... everything is just spot on with this performance. Even my kids loved it and my youngest is just 8! We've been to quite a few live theatre shows and watched ballet, opera, musicals, so we already know what it feels like to be a part of the audience. This DVD however has that magical quality of transporting us at home to the audience. It is fantastic.

Simply amazing!
This is an amazing DVD! If you love phantom or musicals then you will love this DVD! Unlike the anniversary editions of Les Mis, this is a fully staged production of the show, including sets and costumes. Add to that an incredible cast and you're in for an amazing treat! A must buy for fans of musicals!

Wonderful production let down by poor mastering quality.
The show is simply fabulous and the voices of Ramin Karimloo and Sierra Boggess is simply devine. The encore at the end is a treat for Phantom fans everywhere. The only problem I have is the production quality of the blu ray disc. The 5.1 channel sound quality sounds as if the mix was thrown together by someone who could not care less about the end product or the fact that people who would spend money to buy the blu ray as opposed to the dvd version may like something a bit special in terms of sound quality. Poor handling of a wonderful show.

Superb ..just like being there
Nothing against it as the whole show was amazing but I am biased since my wife and i were there ..This production is fantastic with many camera angles and the singing of Ramin Karimiloo and Sierra Boggess and the rest of the exceptional cast was perfect. The treat at the end saw Michael Crawford, Sarah Brightman and former players presented and with a repeat of some songs that was a joy to hear ..So I strongly recommend it.

It is brilliant
Such a great show. Seen the show four times. First time I was not sure about. But the second time I loved it.Brought the DVD because I missed not seeing it on you tube when Andrew Lloyd Webber put it on.So glad I brought it an fantastic production. So good so powerful and so well done.Watching it in lockdown and seeing this performance on DVD is the next best thing. The only slight thing which can not be helped which I did not like was the microphones do the side of the actors face. But that is so miner. Don't let that put you off. A great show two and half hours go by so fast when watching it.

FANTASTIC..BRILLIANT..
FANTASTIC..first saw on Amazon Prime...I got the movie but was not what I wanted..I wanted to see the stage version..Not the movie..This version IS exactly what I wanted to see..I wanted to get the feel of the audience and cast together..The stage moving... lights going up and down..This is how it should be seen..I can not get to a theatre to see it..so now I can enjoy watching at home..The cast are FANTASTIC..If you like "The Phantom Of The Opera"..You should watch this one..I have only seen 1 show that was"Joseph"..I would love it to come out like this show..Not the way on DVD with Donny Osmond,I did not mind him in it,I just preferred the way it was done on Stage with Philip Schofield ( which I saw )..The Phantom of The Opera..in my opinion was just BRILLIANT..I enjoyed it so much...Now I can watch it whenever I want...WELL DONE TO ALL.
