Expert Chemical Composite Deck Cleaner and Enhancer

It is a good project but you have to be careful since bleach is main qingredient and you really have to work it in and keep an eye on the weather according to directions

Use within 35 days and only if it's not going to rain that day and if the temperature is between 55 and 85.I received it 8 days after ordering it from Home Depot then did not get a chance to clean my deck before a month-long trip. Amazon wasn't selling it yet at that time. After my trip, the daytime temperature was constantly above 85, or I was busy. By the time I tested it and was ready to use it , 2 months had passed and the product had turned bad, even though I kept it in my basement away from heat and light. I called the company's customer's service. They said that they would call me back today, but didn't. So I called Home Depot, and they told me to lug back the 3 gallons to the closest Home Depot (25 minutes away) for store credit. What a pain!Make sure that you order it when you are ready to use it, when there are days where no rain is predicted and where the temperature is just right.Of course, buy it on Amazon so if all fails, you'll have great customers' service :-)

I used the Expert Chemical Composite Deck Cleaner the other day and it exceeded expectations. The product comes with an instructional DVD which is very straightforward. You remove all furniture from the deck, cover nearby plants with plastic, sweep the deck, then spray the cleaner full strength on the deck. After 20-30 minutes, you use a solution that's 1 cup cleaner to 1 gallon water with a scrub brush, agitating until the solution foams on the deck. After this, you can hose off the deck or use a pressure washer like I did. I used a squeegie to help the deck dry faster. After the deck is dry you spray the full concentration chemical on the deck and let it air dry.Use dirty clothes that you wouldn't mind getting bleached, and of course follow the safety instructions.In the end the Trex deck looks fantastic. No more green mildew. The only thing I'd recommend is to get more than what's recommended. Each gallon is supposed to cover 100 square feet, but remember you need to spray twice AND save a cup or two for your bucket solution. Next time I'll probably double my order.Lastly, hats off to Expert Chemical for great customer service. Originally I placed an order for the cleaner in January, not realizing it has a 30-day shelf life and is only effective at a certain temperature range (50-80 degrees I believe). Expert Chemical reached out to me to remind me of this and asked me if I really wanted them to process the order. I was impressed. Needless to say I postponed my order until the weather got warmer.

I couldn't use it before the expiration date due to weather.

We couldn't finish our deck and railing with just one container of cleaner. Next time we'll have to order 2 containers.

This is maybe the 5th review I've written on Amazon after hundreds of purchases. I was just so shocked that this product actually worked. Granted, I think I took a year off my life smelling this stuff for a couple hours.I had tried several cleaning solutions (Zep and others) to remove grease stains on my deck. I thought I was going to have to paint it or stain it. I used the product as instructed and it looked almost new when done. Definitely make sure you are in a well ventilated area, a slight breeze is preferred. Wear the gloves and goggles. Pretty impressive.

I bought my product from Home Depot and called the Expert Chemical directly, to find out when the 35 day window for when it needed to be used started, since the product wasn't sent to me directly. Their customer service representative was very condescending and gave me quite a (repetitive) lecture. The long and short of is that they don't have any way of telling you when your particular bottle of cleaner was made because (she said) they make the product every day and send out so much of it. I don't know why they don't have a lot number on the product so it would be more convenient for their customers to know the window of time they have to use product and be confident that it's going to be in good shape. Their representative told me that I can check the clarity of the product before I use it. However, I want to know if I can safely wait another week to use it or if I have to use it this week to be confident of it's condition, so knowing the manufacture date would be very helpful.

Have 5 year old composite deck (Choicedek) that gets black mold spots every winter. This product used as instructed worked great, deck looks like new again. Found one other product that worked great also (Corte-Clean), required a little more work. You have to mix Corte-Clean. The only down sides to Expert chemical deck cleaner is shipping is bulky and you have a short time window that the product is effective. Would definitely use again.
