Great for training and for playing!
Great training tool that plays like a Gen 1 paddle. The sweet spot is dead on compared to a typical paddle (I use the Joola TA Mod). I'm a 5.0 player and my friends and I use these paddles to play against each other to make it more challenging and it's harder to put the ball away like it used to be without the thermoformed or Gen 3 paddles of today. It weighs 8 oz and has a carbon fiber surface so it feels like a typical paddle and can get just as much spin. It has more flexibility than I'd personally like on hard drives, but it's easy to adjust to. Great paddle to have some fun with. I'd definitely recommend this paddle.

Pickleball pals always asking where to get one
Bought for warm-ups and drills. This trainer is about the same weight as my Engage paddle and the sweet spot is about the same distance from my hand, as advertised. I was able to apply a standard overgrip, even though the grip is longer than my regular paddle grip. I also wanted to protect the edge; a half length of carbon fiber edge tape was perfect, so I have a replacement ready to go, too. Many people have asked to try my trainer on the courts and express surprise at how much it helps in focusing on actively using the sweet spot and getting our feet to the right place to meet the ball.I feel like an unofficial Franklin ambassador at my local courts.

Valuable training tool
I wanted to get this to help me hone my pickleball skills. To be honest, I wasn’t exactly sure what I would actually get: looking at the dimensions in the description and using a tape measure could give me an idea but that was it. In the picture, I overlaid it on top of a regular pickleball paddle so you could get a more accurate picture of what to expect. When I first opened it up, it really reminded me of a really juiced up ping pong paddle! The weight feels very similar to a regulation pickleball paddle. It does have a significantly smaller head, with a very elongated grip to really make the feel similar to a regulation paddle (so you are not over-reaching for shots). I use it at home, simply hitting the ball continuously straight up in the air to get the feel of hitting the sweet spot. Doing this frequently will help your muscle memory. I also use it to hit balls against a wall.I personally do not, or would not, use it on a court. You COULD try to use it in warm up, but I personally would rather warm up with my actual paddle when prepping for games. It’s a great tool to help your focus in getting used to hitting a smaller surface (or more accurately, aiming for the sweet spot on a regulation paddle!). It’s something you can use when you’re not on the court.

A Great Practice Tool
At first, I thought this was just a gimmick, but it really sharpens your game. The smaller sweet spot forces you to focus and hit cleaner. After switching back to my regular paddle, I noticed a huge improvement in control and consistency. Great for warm-ups or drilling. If you’re serious about leveling up your shots, this little paddle is worth it.

Sweet Spot Trainer
I love this Franklin sweet spot trainer! It really makes you concentrate on watching the ball to the face of the paddle. It’s so small it’s kind of hard to play with, but it serves its purpose. Feels just like a full size paddle. It has definitely help me hit the sweet spot on my full size paddle!

Sweet Spot Trainer
Good quality, I use it together with my feeder machine which is slow so I could focus on the ball. I'm not sure if I could use this for game... too many stories that it got broken into half hence... will be sticking to drills or dinking.
