Mini sized so it doesn't take up too much space. I dont have too many dvds so I wanted something small to atore away when not in use. This might be small but works perfectly! Easy to hook up to the tv and great value!

Works great! I use it in a foster cat room, to play dvds of birds, squirrels etc. on loop for when I’m not in the room. Video quality is good, player is compact, and it’s a snap to set up. Recommended!

This DVD player was the perfect size for my desk, around the same size as an external CD drive! It works perfectly with my mini CRT, and I've had no problems so far. It is easy to use with the remote, but I must say there is a small delay when pressing the buttons, nothing too major though. Another thing to note is that it saves your time if you eject the DVD, so the next time you play it again, it'll continue where you left off. The aspect ratio is also pretty good, but I am running a fairly tiny TV. The only complaint I have is with the USB drive, which is the main reason why I purchased this. I was looking forward to importing some files and converting them to the ones this DVD drive takes, but so far none have worked. I've tried MPEG-1, MPEG-2, and XVID, but no luck so far; all say unsupported format. I'm not sure if there's a program that can correctly format MP4 files. I'll update this review if I ever find one. For now, I have no possible way of playing videos directly from my USB, the only alternative I have is burning my own DVDs.

This DeSobry player is one of my better purchases and it will replace all my previous players as there are so many more features here that all my others don't have. The HDMI picture quality is crystal clear and even older movies have a clear quality picture that is enjoyable. The Zoom feature is by far my favorite. I can zoom in up to 4X to see something I missed in the movie. This feature is something that I have not experienced before in a DVD player. Also new for me is a specialized button that plays the closed caption without interrupting the movie. (In all my other players if I wanted to view the Closed Caption I would have to stop and revert to the main menu to obtain the closed caption or turn on the CC within the television.) The DeSobry player even displays video during fast forward and reverse play back so you can see where you want to stop in your movie. The player also has a skip scene feature that is useful. This Desobry player can access all DVD media such as DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW and also all your favorite music tracks including your prerecorded disc media. There is even a TF (TransFlash) card slot that you can use for play back of videos taken with your smart phone or your GoPro camera. I will be taking the player with me to my workplace and will listen to my music. This player will also be a great benefit for presenters of lectures and meetings that take place at my occupation. The DeSobry Mini DVD player includes everything you need to hook up to your television, even those without HDMI as it has a composite red, yellow and white cable that can be used for older televisions. Included are a 5-volt power supply and a USB cable--no need for an extra purchase. Of course a remote and the HDMI cable are also part of the package. It only took me 5 minutes to hook up and enjoy my movies. The price! Holy Cow! What a deal for all these options and functions. The DeSobry will be my go-to player to watch all my favorite movies.

Perfect for my needs and expectations. We needed something to show movies outside on the side-of-our-house screen that didn’t rely on streaming. It also let us use our tons of DVDs that don’t get touched much now that streaming is so easy. Compact, easy to set up and use.

This is a great DVD player for the size. Important to note the remote must a have direct line to the front of the player for it to work. I bought this for a 32" wall mounted kitchen tv that has very little room behind it and kitchen appliances under it. I needed something small enough to squeeze in somewhere and this worked perfect. I had a small Roku stand that I was able to stick the DVD player to and it fits behind the tv even when collapsed pretty close to the wall. I cannot use the remote because I chose to put the DVD player in a place where the remote does not have a direct line to the front of the player. But if I hold the remote under the tv and angle it up, it works. So this remote does not work "through" objects the way that some remotes do. When I had the stand clipped to the top of the tv the way it's intended, the DVD player was visible above the tv and the remote worked great from across the room. I only had to use the HDMI cord and the power cord. Often with wall mounted tv's, some of the ports are inaccessible. With mine, the red, yellow, and white ports were blocked by the tv mount, so it was great I only had to use the HDMI cord, because the HMDI port is in the side of my tv and accessible. Picture and sound are great. All of the buttons you need are directly on the DVD player, so if you lose the remote, you can still use the full functionality. For such a small light-weight DVD player, I'm so impressed with the quality of the picture. If you travel a lot and want an easy DVD player to pack, this is it. You could easily plug this in to hotel tvs and it weighs next to nothing to travel with. For anyone who remembers them, this is similar to a discman. One that doesn't easily skip. It's probably even lighter weight than one, albeit maybe a tiny bit thicker. It uses a USB-C charger, which it comes with. Also, it has a volume control on the player itself as well as headphone jack. There is a USB port so I suppose you could put movies on a USB stick and play them that way. In another review someone said this plays DVDs from anywhere globally/any format. I haven't tried it, but I'm excited to hear that because it would help with learning a new language to play movies/tv shows and it's often hard to find everything I want in US format. All around super happy with this purchase. Will likely buy more for other rooms. Cutting back on streaming services to save some money and reverting back to my DVD collection for a while. This makes it easy and not messy looking.

Works, tiny, nice remote... Plays fairly loud, can hear the disc spinning motor in the AV sound channel. Just one more tenth of a penny for a diode and the motor noise would be silenced... Not so loud as to be useless, just loud enough to be annoying... Decent value for the money. I mean... buy the HDMI cable(that comes with it) separately, and it costs as much as the whole DVD player does. Buy the 110v plugin to USB power supply(that also comes with it) separately, and it would cost as much as the whole DVD player does.

I purchased this to replace a 15 year old Phillips unit. I thought I would take a chance on a small compact player. I just recently relocated my TV to a wall and have this DESOBRY Small compact DVD player. It took less than 15 minutes from the time I opened the box to playing "The Devil Wears Prada". No fiddling around. No fussing. Just connect the HDMI cable at each end and plug in the power. Then I played "SULLY". The sounds from this unit are great. The colors are high quality. The remote is going to take a little time for me to get the hang of it. But, in my defense, I am 79. There are so many features in this small little black box. No more slide out trays that don't slide out. Just insert the DVD/CD and hit play. I will eventually put a small shelf on the wall next to the TV for the ATT Router and this DVD player. But until then I am going to enjoy the sound and the picture quality. This is a good product.
