They light with ease and stay lit for a while, enough to get the kindling going and a nice fire started.

I bought these for my firepit. I tried everything from fire starter logs to weird internet hacks, but I couldn't get my logs to catch fire. These looked a little too simple, but I was desperate. I wasn't expecting much, but much to my surprise they worked great. They light on fire quickly and burn for longer than expected. It gives the wood plenty of time to start smoldering. I have used them in my little fire pit and a big bonfire. They worked equally well on both. The set includes a whopping 50 pieces so there's plenty to last all winter.

I have a Solo Stove Bonfire (1.0) and it often takes a long time to get going. I can put in small kindling but typically have to add some cardboard or paper towels to get it going and then once that's lit I'll dump on a bunch of dry leaves and THEN I can get some larger pieces going. I decided to try these because it's worth a few bucks if it means less time and effort to get the fire going. I end up using 3-4 of these strategically placed under the kindling. They're super easy to light and burn for maybe 5 to 10 minutes, which is enough time to get something more substantial caught. As long as you don't smother them, there's no more relighting and if you carefully add stuff like dry leaves or bigger logs you should be able to get a nice fire going by the time the starters burn out. I have also used them with wood pellets and the pellet adapter in the Solo Stove. This is even more foolproof, you just partially bury the starters in the pellets and they'll get it all caught no problem.
