Good product, not very user friendly
Overall the product has been great. I’m happy with the purchase, but it’s not very intuitive to set up. I plugged it into my iPad and followed the prompts, I’m getting the hang of it now but it’s a lot of trial and error and pushing buttons to test it out. I have transferred a few files to it to test it out and make sure I know how to retrieve them before deleting them off my iPad, so I can’t say I’ve seen a reduction in my storage capacity on my iPad yet. There are two options to view, internal storage and external storage. They both accurately reflect the amount of storage I have used on both, yet when I’ve transferred the files, they show up on the device under internal iPad storage, even though they are on the external storage device. The external storage device view shows empty. I’m not sure why this is and I need to continue testing it out to be sure, but that doesn’t seem to have any effect on my ability to view or retrieve the files from the external storage. But again, without deleting them off my iPad I can’t say for sure that it’s truly freed up space on my ipad and used available space on the external storage device. I’ll update when I know more.

Pretty Cool Device
This is a really cool device that allows you to transfer pictures and videos from your Lightning-connected iPhone for mass exfil if you have no other way to transfer that data. Everyone’s familiar with running out of space on their iPhone with all the pictures we all take every day of our lives. In order to transfer gigs of data, you either have to plug your phone into your computer and manually transfer your photos and videos that way or use a cloud service like Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, etc. which could take hours to upload. That’s where this device comes in handy. Plug it into your iPhone, download and launch the app, and transfer your photos directly to the flash drive. Unplug the flash drive from your iPhone, plug it into your computer, and transfer the files to your computer smoothly and safely. Depending on how many photos and videos you have, you may have to transfer from the phone to your computer a few times since this is a 64GB flash drive which gives you ~62GB of usage. Overall, this is an effective way to transfer files for anyone who wants an easier way than connecting their phone to their computer or using a cloud storage service.I found this device to be quite helpful and relatively easy to use. The app is basic, but works well and transferring photos and videos didn’t take too long. I’d recommend this device for anyone looking for a easy way to transfer their photos and videos off of their iPhone to relieve some storage space.

Solid metal, speed okay
First impressions is nice. The drive is all metal, and fairly hefty. Small, but functional. The metal protector around it securely snaps into cardinal directions, so it doesn't slide open in a bag. I find the design a little silly, as you can't protect both sides, but it's fine. USB-C has become quite common as a connector so this is pretty handy, but given all the stories I'm reading about Apple users needing to install something to use this, I wonder if USB-A wouldn't have been preferable to Lightning on the other end. At least, that would have made it more useful on PC towers, where front accessible USB-C ports aren't always common features unless it's pretty new.Managed to write up to 35 mb/s sending a large file. Would be nice if they had some numbers for what to expect, but what I got is pretty okay for a thumb drive, I think.

Speedy transfers for Apple, Android, and Windows devices
The USB-C connection is becoming the universal USB connection for electronic devices. Despite Apple protests, the USB-C port is going to replace the Apple lightning connector. Not necessarily because it is better, but because the European Union mandated that electronic devices use USB-C in the future. Either Apple stops selling in the EU or they adopt USB-C.This flash drive fills part of the gap between legacy devices and newer devices as it provides both a USB-C port as well as an Apple lightning port.In my throughput testing with the USB-C/lightning flash drive connected to a Windows computer, speeds seemed reasonable and I had no glitches. I also tested the flash drive connection to an Android phone without any issues.Note that this flash drive recommended format is exFAT, which is not a big deal but some Windows users might prefer/need NTFS. However, the vendor states that you must keep the exFAT format because that is more widely compatible including with Apple devices. To maintain some compatibility with older devices in the Windows world, you will probably need an USB-C female to USB-A male adapter. There are other USB connection types out there (micro, mini) and depending on your needs you may need those as well. Why four stars?I am a big, big fan of protecting your flash drive connectors from dust and other things, but this device can only protect one side at a time. They do provide a cap for the USB-C connector but how quickly do you think that will get lost? I may put the flash drive in my pocket or a bag and they can get dirty there which could cause connection problems eventually.Otherwise it is a solid all metal flash drive with decent transfer speeds. Recommended if you understand the minor limitations mentioned above.

USB-C side works, lightning does not
When I first put the drive into my iPhone there was a popup telling me to install some janky looking app. I declined. The drive doesn't show up in my files app, and plugging it in again does not show the app popup. It would have been nice if the drive was plug and play, as I'm definitely not giving a random app access to my files. It still functions as a USB C drive, so not a total fail.

iPhone/iPadで便利に使えるLightning/USB type-C両対応USBメモリ。
