Please note that the notebook looks light blue in my photo. It is more of a navy blue in real life.Peter Pauper Press is my favourite brand for notebooks. They are high-quality and very beautiful, but so much cheaper than the likes of Moleskine and Paperblanks. This is a sturdy hardcover A5-ish notebook with a sewn binding and ribbon bookmark. It does lie almost completely flat. My favourite thing about this notebook is the paper. It is slightly off-white with 8mm lines so it is perfect if your handwriting is on the larger side. The paper is smooth and a dream to write on. I use a black gel pen without any problem and it does not show through at all. I have not used a fountain pen but I don't see why it would be an issue as the paper is quite thick.

I have several of these notebooks.The paper is a lovely quality which allows your ink pen to write smoothly and the cover does not get damaged or seem to show wear & tear.They all look fab together on your bookcase too.

Gold foil edged pages, book mark ribbon, sewn spine, 170mm (w) x 220mm (h) cover (pages are a bit smaller). It is the typical size of most others in the PP series, noticeably bigger than A5. Deeply embossed dark blue and gold floral pattern (same both front and back) taken from a first edition of Dante Gabriel Rossetti (1828-82) poetry. He was even more famous for his pre-Raphaelite painting. The spine decor is a reworking of the cover blooms. 160 very faint lined blank pages of heavy archival (acid free) paper. A blank gold card weight inset page front and back. 1 title page simply 'Journal' with verso a 3 line summary of Peter Pauper's 1928 start. The paper will take a fountain pen well and is not watermarked. The description sticker leaves no residue, but needs a bit of ordinary care to stay in 1 piece when you pull it off.Lovely, smart and tasteful. A mini-work of art from all angles, done with care and pride. A pleasure to look at and to hold. I have many of these for myself and they make wonderful presents too.RECOMMENDED

This is about the tenth Peter Pauper Press notebook/diary I've bought and I love them. The covers are beautiful, the pages are smooth and inviting and, for me, the lines are exactly the right distance apart for writing on. On a purely aesthetic level, I love the way these notebooks looked lined up on a shelf :). They aren't cheap, as notebooks go, but for me they're worth the money.

The cover, the tooling and gold detail are of the highest quality. Unfortunately I did not take a note of the size that was clearly detailed on the website and found that it is narrower than my previous notebooks. This is my fault entirely and apart from note stacking evenly amongst the others it is still very beautiful and I will be keeping it. (I must write a little more neatly) I write a daily journal and enjoy the product for my scribbles.

Prior to this purchase, I had already bought two journals from Peter Pauper Press (green filigree and the old world map one). I am so impressed by the intricate details of each journal. This one in particular is absolutely stunning. Very sturdy. Excellent quality of paper, a gold bookmark and beautiful gold edges on each and every page. Definitely not my last purchase from Peter Pauper Press! I think I'm starting somewhat of a collection!

I got this for my daughter and it was lovely. She really loves it, and I want one too.

This journal is as amazing as all there other ones. Beautiful cover and pages, and very nice thick paper for journaling. I write on both sides and it doesn’t leak through.
