Singstar: Ultimate Party (PS4)

This is a great game my last singing game was lips for the Xbox 360 which had wireless mics that you shook to get boosts and play instruments but that is no big miss. You can adjust the volume of the microphone so you can hear yourself sing back, there are so many songs to chose from in the store and they're not all old b-listers. I've not tried the app for the microphone but for the purpose this game is made for it does the job, a lot of fun, easy to use and has great songs to chose from.. Although they can get abit pricey

The mike levels have been adjusted and more tracks that people bought on their ps3s are now becoming available for ps4 for no extra cost. Brand new tracks are also available to download. Foo Fighters and the original disney 'Let it Go' track are available to purchase now. It's worth knowing that if you download a new track to the ps4 you can still download it to your ps3 as well and it won't cost any extra.There are some problems that still need sorting but there's another patch in December 2014 to address some, if not all, of these.UPDATE 2: The December update had been released. Sound levels have been adjusted further, you don't have to keep typing in your name after each song, latency issues have been considerably reduced, most other modes of play - battle etc - have been reinstated. A couple of minor niggles to iron out but it plays much better. Oasis have also been added to the singstore. Let the fun begin!!!!UPDATE 03.12.2015After a gap of several months where singstar released nothing at all comes this update. The interface has changed and new features have been added. The new features appear under PARTY mode. First thing to do is add a photo of yourself and other players or choose a pic from the selection singstar supply. Then you have a choice of what to play. You can do the following:-1, battle - Sing a song. HIGHEST SCORE WINS. One on One2.Medley - Sing the chorus of five different songs One on One.3 Micro medley - Sing a short section of eight different songs. One on One.4. First to the post - First to reach one million points wins. One on One5.Pass the mike - At least 2 players are required on each team for this.6.Pass the Medley - as no.2 but with at least 2 players on each team.7.Pass the micro- medley - As no.3 but with at least 2 players on each team.In addition to the above more songs are being added to the store. Please note that the ps4 version still hasn't reached the number of songs in the singstore as the ps3 has but it is catching up.So, yes, this is a big improvement. Took a while to get there but now it's a proper party game. I can really recommend it now!UPDATE 24.11.2016Singstar have been very quiet in the last few months with their updates. The latest isn't good news. Due to licensing regulations Singstar have just pulled 680 songs from the online store. That's a huge amount. However, Singstar are entering a new contract at the end of this month but have not stated if the the deleted songs will make a return. The good news is if you delete a song that you have already bought that is no longer available on the store it will be made available to you. Singstar have also said they are committed to continuing the franchise. It's a mixed message. Anything new happens I'll let you know.UPDATE 25.02.2018Apart from releasing a new disc, Singstar Celebration, nothing new has happened. The online store is still available but hasn't had any new songs added for TWO YEARS. The Celebration disc was meant to be a relaunch and I had high hopes. The disc came out, sold well and... nothing. The game needs updates to stay alive and give a wider choice of music. The developer, London Studios, is still very much alive and kicking so we'll see what happens.UPDATE 28.05.2019Absolutely nothing has changed. No new songs or updates to the game. The Singstore site is still active so you can still purchase extra tracks for the PS3 and PS4 and you can upload your performances for others to see and rate. Traffic to the site is slowing which is obvious if updates are not happening. I will carry on playing Singstar - on PS3 and PS4 - until both consoles pack up and die.UPDATE 01.11.19Well, it's official. I have just received an email from Sony stating the Singstar servers will be shut down on 31.01.2020. After this date you will NOT be able to download any more music. All online activities will cease including viewing and uploading performances, online challenges etc. The songs you have already purchased on disc or downloaded will be fine. It was great while it lasted folks but this is really the end.ORIGINAL REVIEWA good selection of modern songs to belt out on a weekend with a few drinks.This is not the same as previous singstar discs.The scoring system is different and a couple of other features have disappeared. This has divided the singstar community with some people being very angry with the changes. For myself, I enjoy this disc. It isn't quite as good in my opinion but it is still FUN.If you are new to singstar then I do recommend this. If have been with this franchise for a few years then you may think this version is a backwards step. The online content isn't so large as the ps3 version but this will surely change very quickly. If you want to see what's in the singstore then goto Singstar.com. So, this is directed at the newbies. Those of us who have been here for a while will have to go with the changes whether we like it or not. For me, I enjoyed it and thats all that mattered.

This is a great great I love singing with my friends its a great party game and everybody enjoys themselves if they are singing or listening to other people sing. It also has great songs, I love the fact you can download any extras that you want to sing.

Where are the medleys? Why can't more than two people play? The audio synchronisation is absolutely not working, thus making this game unplayable. It's even ridiculous - I put my phone (with the SingStar app) near the TV, and the original song couldn't match any of the notes. How am I supposed to play this?Do not buy this game! It's a complete waste of money.

I was really hoping this version would live up to the previous iteration on the PS3, my wife and friends really enjoyed the game but this time they really have dropped the ball. As so many others have already said the microphone level is set too low, so you cannot hear your voice, it only picks it it up as a low muffle. Considering this is a karaoke game it is is pretty shocking to see how they let this slip by. While the new UI looks good it is slower and they have taken a lot of features away such as saving names, battle and pass the mic. Then when you get to the store there is so few songs that it is hard to believe you are playing the same game. This should have been a great product and it seems that like the trend for many things on the PS4, things are broken and there is no excuse for selling this type of product. Seriously guys, you should ashamed trying to sell this tripe to Singstar customers. I really regret having spent money on this.

We used to love this game when we were younger so had to purchase this. Delivery was excellent. The game itself is good as there are a few good songs to choose from but it's a shame you have to pay to add other songs. Don't mind paying for the odd song but we've probably spent another £20 already just to add songs. Also handy to just connect the phones as the mic but I'm not sure just how accurate this is. Overall it's a good laugh, but at a cost!

great songs, provides enjoyable fun for both adults and kids during the holiday periods and parties! Shame there are not many popular songs to download from the website but the selection provided in the game is varied and enjoyable. I have found the playabililty to be excellent with our wired mikes.

Product itself is alright, however was sent an EU version which was not stated on the listing!What more can I say, its SingStar. You sing your little heart out, belting out some classic tracks, thinking you're amazing, only to realise it's far from the truth and you brutally get told so by the game hahahaIt's the same concept as the previous games, and it's just as much of a laugh. And it make a change from all the FPS and racing games!

Le jeu est parfait, juste plate qu'il vienne pas avec des micros car chanter dans son cellulaire, c'est moins le fun. De plus, le Singstore est pas vraiment updated, donc, quand t'as les tunes que tu veux...T'en auras pas d'autre parce qu'ils semblent pas essayer d'en ajouter...

Can buy more song from the sing store as well.

I've read lots of negative critics about this product and I don't get it... It has new songs and the mechanism for playing is the same. The only thing that's change is the possibility of mixing songs, but despite of this, it's perfect.

If the package was not already open, I'd say it was brand new. Works flawlessly too... Fun, but still like the PS3 version better
