CuprinolGarden Shades - Summer Damson (2.5 Litre)

Having thoroughly investigated many timber care products I am still using Cuprinol Garden Shades. Like many products it protects but does not preserve the wood. Bare untreated wood requires treatment with a suitable preservative before painting. The paint is easy to apply and covers well; it is low odour and fast drying. Brushes clean well with warm water. There is a wide range of colours available and the finish is both durable and easy to clean. What's not to like? Two tips if you do buy this: 1. I found it easier and faster to apply with a medium pile roller and then brushed out with a four inch synthetic bristle brush. 2. Do not paint the undersides of timbers or they effectively become encased in a watertight skin. Should any water enter via a crack or damage it will be trapped and will cause decay.

I had been coveting the Summer Damson shade for ages before i finally bought it.I bought multiple tins to paint my back fence and old garden bench. It took me 3.5 tins to paint about 100 feet of 5ft fencing with one coat. I found it covered so well it didn't need a 2nd coat at all. I also painted the concrete underneath.The pictures attached to this review show the fence just over a year after i painted it, and it still looks amazing.The paint is very thin mind you, and drips and splashes everywhere, so be prepared to use gloves and wear old clothes as its a very messy job.I think it looks amazing, and I'm really happy with the results.

Very good garden paint! Used on my decking and the paint covered very well and the colour looks great! Painted 2 coats, very good coverage and paint is waterproof too. Highly recommended!

Given some of the images of damaged tins I was concerned about this arriving un-damaged. All I can say is that it was amazingly well packaged (in a leak proof sealed bag) that ensured that it was delivered un-damaged.The product itself is a great exterior paint. We have used various colours on a whole series of different garden projects for the past 10 to 15 years. It has all round great coverage and longevity!It is a product we have turned to consistently without regret!

Fresh Rosemary is a lovely pastel colour that turned my boring shed into a beach hut.My shed is 8 x 6 and I put on two coats and used less than one tin.An amazing garden transformation for very little cost.I must now look for some striped deckchairs!

so, you finally get to speak to a human being - they tell you that you have to return the item to get a refund - you explain that the paint is leaking out of the tins and that you are required to shield by the Government due to poor health and can't go out. they then tell you you can have the item collected. you wait and wait - nothing happens - you email - you get no reply - you finally call again - you explain the situation - you are told that if the item is leaking you can't return it and they will after all arrange for a refund - exceptionally - they tell you to dispose of the paint - its cuprinol - so you explain that you can't as it is classed as a dangerous and has to be disposed of safely so you cant just stick it in the rubbish. They basically tell you - if you want your money back - then you have to ... what lousy support from a company that pretends now to be concerned about green issues!!

Not sure what happened with the delivery but when the packages were opened the tins of paint were badly damaged and leakingI will keep them as I need to get a job finished but may I suggest that dispatch are made aware of miss handling and maybe some signage to say it’s paintThank you
