Description says it is an 8" box, it's not, not even with the shipping box. It is 6" at best, a little small for what my husband wanted it for. But, still, he likes it. He likes all things nautical. It looks nice, nice wood finish, but I couldn't really say if it's teak or not. He wanted to keep it and is using it for his intended purpose.
