Heller 1: 150 - Cap Horn

Not for the faint hearted where rigging is concerned

.I like everything about this model.

Given a high skill level and a lot of patience, it would be possible to construct a fine model from this kit. However, mine suffers from distorted hull halves so that, despite some fairly extreme measures, the hull is still noticeably skewed. I guess the issue is that the two piece hull is simply too big to mould accurately from the rather thin plastic used.Having completed the hull (construction step 1) I have placed it to one side, not sure whether it is worth carrying on with this project. Altogether rather a disappointment.

Every time I buy a large kit from EU Amazon it's sent without packaging - just an address sticker attached to the kit box. Inevitably the box then arrives in a damaged state, as this did. Unfortunately our European cousins seem to be incapable of understanding this or achieving any improvement. I suggest only buying similar items from them if the price is very low, you take into account that the kit box will be damaged, you're prepared to do a complete inventory of the kit to check for missing/damaged parts and you don't mind everyone from the warehouse staff to your neighbours knowing exactly what you have purchased.
