I don't know how anyone could think this item is made of glass!!! Though, at time of reviewing, I don't think the seller is advertising it as glass anyway. (Maybe it was described as glass in the past?) However, the seller IS claiming it's made of stainless steel. All the black and silver parts on this product are plastic. The only metal parts are the mechanics where the charger is inserted and the internal riser tube. Either way, none of that bothers me too much. Though, the seller needs to stop telling porkies. Upon arrival, and realising it's 99% plastic, one can't help feeling a little overcharged. Overall though, it seems a well put together [plastic] product and I trust the ISI brand. The classic vintage style looks great, glass or not, (and hard polycarbonate plastic means less chance of breakage too, I guess). As others have stated, it doesn't come with any chargers, even ONE would've been good just to get started, c'mon ISI), so I can't use it yet, as the chargers that I ordered at the same time as the syphon are taking longer for Amazon to deliver. I'll edit the review if my opinion changes once I've actually used the product. So far though, looks and feels good enough, if a tad overpriced given build materials. (One star taken off, for high price).

I was attracted by the design which is really elegant and did not disappoint and it is easy to use, so why the disappointment you may ask? Ive found the resulting fizzy water to be verging towards the flat side and have found it to be really uneconomic. One canister from a box of 10 is used to create a bottle of less than a litre of flat fizzy water. If compared against a 2litre shop bought bottle does not make economic sense. Do not buy this product if you intend to have a constant supply of sparkling water. I believe it should only be used for occasional bar-type use and for decoration only. Initially I gave two stars for the look but how a bottle looks doesn't really help me achieve a good supply of sparkling water for daily use, but maybe I can use it for something else. Reduced to 1 star....I kept the bottle to use as a vase....went to drain the water, it won't empty fully! Yuk! Meaning that if I had used this bottle as intended for drinks, any cleaning would mean water would be left in the bottle, it wont drain due to an internal spout and you cant open it....meaning you'd be drinking old water! Gross!!!!....this is a poorly designed product and has been thrown in the bin

Delighted with this purchase. I enjoy a whisky and soda of an evening and supplying myself with soda was becoming problematic. Small bottles or cans were becoming difficult to fined and the contents of large bottles go flat shortly after opening. This soda syphon has solved the problem. It is pleasing to use, seems to be robust and has a quality look and feel. The soda is fresh and fizzy to the last drop....CHEERS.

Easy to find cartridges for this soda siphon looks lovely on my cocktail cabinet got the hang of filling it really easily (just look on internet for tips) makes 1litre of soda water really cheaply love it worth the price

Beste Anschaffung! Warum? Ich war erst skeptisch und dachte ein Sodastream bzw. das Aldiderivat kann das auch. Ich nutze den Sodamaker mit einer Messerspitze Kaisernatron im Wasser. Der Sodastream, den ich auch habe, blubbert das Wasser zu stark auf. Außerdem schmeckt das Wasser nach einer kurzen Zeit chemisch durch die Rückstände in der Plaste-Flasche. Der Sodamaker hingegen belebt das Wasser nur mit einer leichten Perligkeit ohne beim Konsum vulgäres Rülpsen auszulösen. Das Leitungswasser schmeckt dadurch weicher und ist bekömmlicher. Außerdem sieht der Sodamaker cooler aus, als die Hässliche Plastekiste von Sodastream. Ich bin kein Barkeeper, aber zum Beispiel schmeckt ein Whisky Soda oder Campari Soda deutlich besser, ich wiederhole DEUTLICH besser, als mit Sprudelwasser (Gerolsteiner, Hassia, San Pelegrino, alle in Medium). Die Messerspitze Natron im Wasser vor dem Kühlen macht den Unterschied. Man hat zuerst den Eindruck das beim sprudeln nichts mit dem Wasser passiert, aber die sehr feinen Sprudelperlen moussieren im Gaumen ohne die Spirituose zu überdecken. Wichtig ist kühlschrankkaltes Wasser aufzusprudeln, den Sodamaker mehrmals leicht kippen und dann noch mal 2h kaltstellen. Wieder in den Kühlschrank, hält das Wasser ewig. Die 50cent für die Patrone ist mir das wert!

I have had a soda stream for years, but it never performed as well as this product. It makes the most incredible sparkling water that I have been using for my soda, homemade lemonade & with mixed drinks. I use distilled water to ensure that nothing gets clogged up from mineral buildup. It stores easily in the refrigerator door & the carbonation will last for days if not used. I leave the charger attached to the unit to ensure there is no loss of gas. I do the same thing with my ISI whipper. With the whipper, you need to store it on its side to avoid loss of gas. With this item, you have to store it upright because water will actually freeze on the twisted lid & occlude dispension. If you want to dispense without lots of froth, fill your glass or container in the same manner as you do when pouring beer into a glass. Sure it looks cool to hold the syphon up high while filling but you end up waiting for all the carbonation to settle down. The syphon is pretty weighty, as well as beautiful, & I would have never guessed the container was plastic and not glass. What a great buy!!!
