I tend to purchase items sold on Amazon such as this based on customer reviews. I figure that if 500 or more customers rate something 4 star or above, the product might be worth checking out. I think I will up that threshold to 1,000 or more after this purchase. First of all, paddle and attachments are made from the cheapest plastics on earth. I’ve no doubt that under the best of care, the components would begin to fail within six months. Based on its construction, I wasn’t about to test my theory. I decided to send it back after only three uses. During its maiden voyage, I made the lemon gelato. Gelato it did fine and I was very impressed. Then I attempted to make cheesecake ice cream. I followed the manufactures recipe book to the “T” and ended up with a soupy mess. I errored on the side of fairness because I only froze the bowl for 16 hours and not 24 as there manufacture suggested. I tried to make honey ice cream. Again, I used the recipe provided in the manufactures book of recipe’s. This time I let the bowl freeze for about 30 hours. I ended up with a soft serve milkshake. The owners manual states the machine will shut off automatically after 30 minutes. I’m not sure whose measurement of time they are going by when they stated this, but mine just kept going until I shut it down. …….washed it out, placed it back in the box and set it by the door to be returned to Amazon. This thing is a total waste of time and money. Buyer beware!

This little ice cream maker whips up a qt. of yummy ice cream or sorbet in about 30 minutes. You do need to freeze it a few hours or it's more like soft serve. I keep the bottom part in my freezer so it's always ready to go. The top cover where the mixer attaches is difficult to clean completely. A booklet w/easy recipes & suggestions comes with it. If you're just a casual lover of home made ice cream, it's perfect.

So first off you have to have to prefeeeze this for a minimum of 24 hours to max 48 hours or it could crack the bowl. I know dumb for some but for me I just use this here and there so it doesn't bother me much. Heres my pros, cons and mehs Pros - makes about 2 pints of ice cream - doesn't really require a lot of extra stuff as everything is included - easy to set up use and install Cons -the additive window( to put in Nutella, or chocolate chips etc) is basically unusable even with a funnel - it doesn't really make the ice cream out the gate to eat. You make the ice cream and it comes out gooey, you have to freeze it after for 8 hrs to enjoy it as common ice cream - everything Is plastic so far it's lasted about 4 quarts of ice cream, but I do question how long it will last -painful to clean, you have to handwash everything Mehs -its not the greatest quality but it works -the guide isn't super well written but it's easy to figure out - Ive used junkies ice cream mix and nostalgia ice cream mix and both work well. S'mores ice cream recipe -Junkies ice cream dutch chocolate mix -Fluff marshmellow fluff -Graham crackers, crushed Follow the instructions on the junkies box Put the mix in the bowl Run ice cream mixer for 10 min. Turn off and add about 3 to 4 tbls of fluff Run ice cream maker for 10 more min. Turn off and add Graham crackers Run ice cream mixer for 10 more minutes Put in container and freeze for 8 hours. I've used it twice and it's made two batches of really good sugar free ice cream. Booklet comes with several recipes that look good but I use a simple one I got of Internet. My recipe makes roughly two servings, good for portion control.

For the price an excellent little ice cream maker. It's very easy to use and works well! It makes a good amount of ice cream. Try tangerine juice plus some sugar--it's a wow!
