Updated review
The charger looks and feels well made. From single digit percent battery power it charges my S7 edge in about an hour and a half to an hour and 45 minutes while simultaneously charging one of my kids' iPads. That is the same time it takes the Samsung quick charger that came with my phone to charge just my phone, so I am pleased. I don't use any apple products but my kids are still wowed by how quickly their iPads charge. I believe it takes them about 3 to 3 and half hours even with 2 of them charging at the same time. I am happy with the chargers. Now we will see if they withstand the test of time... 9/16/2020 This charger no longer works on any of my kids' iPads. It still works great on my Samsung phone and my Bose bluetooth speaker, but within a month or two it stopped charging one of the kids' iPads. Then another, and finally another. That's 3 months worth total on the 3 iPads I got these for. I came to buy this particular charger after having similar experiences with cheaper chargers and the iPads. Prior to buying these I did a search for the best iPad charger, and this Anker charger was named in more than one article, so this is what i chose. I got 2 of these chargers and the result is the same on both. Neither charger has been dropped, damaged, or abused. I have chargers for my phone. I only got this charger for the iPads. After 3 months it is not doing what I had hoped it would do. I guess my only option at this point is to get genuine apple chargers. I didn't buy the iPads. They came from the kids' mom. Aside from the $30 wasted on these chargers, it also gripes me that I have to put money in the pockets of the people at apple. I personally do not recommend these chargers for anyone with an apple device. If others had a better experience and you feel it's worth taking the chance, be my guest and good luck. I would advise just going with an apple charger from the start. If you are using this with any other manufacturer's device you may be ok. Other than the iPad issue it seems like a good charger.

Don't expect it to display "fast charging" on your Samsung Galaxy S8 or S7
I expected from the description of this product that it would "Fast Charge" my Samsung galaxy S8, but it just says "charging". I also tried it on a Samsung galaxy S7 and had the same result. I'm going to time the charging along side the fast charger that came with the phone and see just how fast it is, and check it out a bit before sending it back. I'll update with results. All in all it seems like a solid charger. Side note: I do feel like if there is going to be a light on the charger it should change colors to indicate when it has fully charged a device, but at least it isn't too bright of a blue that would be distracting if plugged in by the bed. UPDATE!!! 11/26/2018 After using this charger for over 6 months I am changing my rating to 5 stars! The charger IS a fast charger even though it doesn't display fast charging on my Samsung Galaxy devices. It is still working great and I am very satisfied with this product as well as all my other Anker products. To top it all off the manufacturer contacted me over the weekend and is sending me an upgraded version of this charger that they say has two fast charging ports and one of them will display fast charging on my Samsung Galaxy phones. I do like my Anker products and the 2 times I have had any issues with their products they have gone out of there way to make it right!

Anker comes through again for me....
Charges an iPad or iPhone about as quickly as can be done safely. There are many inexpensive choices, but I've had success with Ankar in the past for batteries, so thought I'd give them a shot here. Buying genuine Apple is a premium price, but, aside from the charger that came with my MacBook Air, I've never had a bad OEM charger for any of our devices. With cheaper chargers I've had a few fail, and an occasionally inconsistent charging experience. Sometimes the charger works as expected, and on rare occasions there is a message on the Apple device questioning that same charger's compatibility. I write that off as cheap chargers using the cheapest components, which don't always deliver at consistent tolerances, especially as their components age. Then under possible stress, the charger isn't delivering within Apple's tolerances, and you get the notification questioning compatibility. They do OK in a pinch. This time I figured I'd pay closer to an Apple price, get something better and more functional. I like having 2 x high output ports and the light makes them easier to to attach the cable in the dark. The charger works great, and as usual with an iPad class charger, phones charge much more quickly. I've often had 2 iPads or an iPad and a phone, or a phone and a BlueTooth speaker charging at the same time, and it's done about as quickly and cleanly as I would expect.

Good charger
Good for travel as not big. Charges very well though depending on what you are charging, it could take a bit longer than expected.

Great Product, Great Warranty, Horrible Customer Service
Great Little Wall Charger. Fast but Could be faster. Perfect for travel. Love Anker Products. Anker stands by their products and replaces anything for free as long as it's under warranty (usualy 12-18 months depending on the product). There is 1 thing I hate about Anker customer support, they are completely impersonal. You'll read this grievance in my most of my recent reviews, I'll explain and let you decide for yourself if Anker Support could have, should have, treated me better. Just bought multiple items as Christmas gifts for 16 family members (16 power banks, 16 lightning cables, 8 micro USB cables, 8 Wall Chargers, 5 Car Chargers) Not only did I spend a lot of money but I gave Anker 16 new customers that are already purchasing more Anker products. So when my personal 6ft Powerline+ lightning cable broke after a few months of minimal use (exposing the wire) I sent in my request for a new cable. I explained how much I love Anker, how I just got my entire family Anker products and got Anker a bunch of new customers and I was surprised the cable broke so easily. I asked if they could replace my cable with the 6ft Powerline+ II, figuring it may be more durable. Their reply was surprising, they wanted to refund me for my cable so I could purchased the newer cable. They did not offer a discount for the new cable, so essential they were not willing to give me the newer cable for free, it would have cost me a few more dollars and honestly I can't imagine it really costing Anker more than a few cents for the upgraded cable. This is such a huge turn off, I'm the customer you want, not just a guy who buys a cable, but someone who buys many, many products from you, gives your products to all of my family members, and promotes your products to everyone... So many of my friends have also gotten Anker cables based on my recommendation. Highly disappointed in your customer service skills Anker, still love your products but I don't plan on promoting your products until you learn how to treat your GREAT CUSTOMERS BETTER.

Made like a tank and works great
You get a phone or iPad that costs hundreds and you choose to use a dollar store/deli charger - what is wrong with you? Anker makes the best chargers and cables so buy the right stuff here and now. I have used these before and they are great. And let me clear up one thing I see some others are say they fall out of sockets - these do not fall out of wall sockets unless the socket is old loose and needs replacement. So if it falls out, it is not its fault, it is your old worn socket. Some socket replacements at the big box store, though a brand name, have been cheapened down with less contact metal inside and wear way faster they they should and often before old ones. Once caveat for all "travel-type" chargers. If you wack them sideways while plugged in you can damage the parts inside that allow the plug to flip open and closed. Not flipping them open and closed all the time makes them last longer. Anker's seem made very well in this regard though and likely the best of the best. Buy some Anker cables too not the cheap dollar store/deli garbage that frays and shorts out. Good cables last a long time and are worth it. Stop complaining about bad cords if you buy cheap garbage.

Anker stands behind its products.
The charger arrived on schedule, I plugged it in, the indicator light came on, I plugged in my phone and it indicated it was charging. However, when I came back to collect the charged phone I saw that it was only half charged and the indicator light was out. I tried changing different devices and using different USB cords and the charger remained dead. I contacted Anker customer service online. They have a form to fill out with the order number and the problem. This was on a weekend. When Monday rolled around I received an email saying a replacement device would be shipped and that I didn't need to send back the defective device. Two days later I had the new charger. This time I worked beautifully, no problems at all. I especially like the design which allows it to occupy only one space on a power strip while providing two high speed USB ports. Having the AC prongs designed to swing flush makes it a great travel device while still being very useful at home. It was annoying to receive a defective device, but Anker stood behind its product and made it right as quickly as they could. I'll be a repeat customer.

good, compact USB charger with dual 2.1A ports at a very reasonable price
I just received it last week, so the jury is still out on durability. It's compact, about the same as the single port 2.1 amp charger that Apple ships with iPads, with folding pins. I just charged two 2.1A devices (an iPad and a Choetech wireless charging phone cradle) at the same time and it worked fine. I've been satisfied with the quality of other Anker products and the price of this was better than a lot of competitors' prices. I agree with those who don't like the blue light, especially because it provides no information about the charge status of the device. Basically it only tells you that the outlet is getting power and the charger is working. I also found it a little bright for the bedroom, but I just put a small piece of black electrician's tape over it and now I can hardly see the blue glow through the charger's white casing.
