Inov-8Men's Running Shoes, 8.5

I bought these for a mud/obstacle race I am training for.I found the fit to be slightly small - I needed to go up half a size from my normal sevens, I also found that with a pair of f-lites from the same company, but I do have wide feet, so others may be OK in their normal size.The shoe is very light and they felt comfortable and fast. I bought them specifically for a mud run/obstacle course I am training for and the grip in mud is fantastic, I have run straight up muddy banks that would have had me on my hands and knees in my ordinary running shoes. The design of the lugs is also such that they don't tend to clog up with mud, which would both add to weight and lose grip. Whilst they excel on mud and trails they feel OK on the road too which is useful if your runs include roads and hard paths on the way the softer terrain.The blue suede type material round the toes and the edge of the shoe seems to add a degree of robustness to them but I haven't done enough miles in them yet to comment on durability. I read several reviews online before purchasing, the only negative I saw in any of them was a comment that they are quite poor on wet wood, slip ramp, type obstacles, that may well be so although I haven't yet tired them on those surfaces, but I guess that may be an inevitable pay off for improved grip in mud.Overall I am very pleased with them and providing they prove reasonably durable I would not hesitate to buy them again for cross country/ trail running etc.

I spent ages looking around for a decent yet fair priced shoe,,bought these after reading the reviews and like them..they feel comfy yet roomy as I went for the standard fit, not the precision fit as I thought they may be a bit tight...remember, they are a minimal sole so you do feel everything you run on..stones..branches etc...very little in the way of cushioning...they are very light and hopefully will last a while..did a 10k run off road on Friday and they were fine, no slipping at all over all types of ground...

I have worn these shoes now for 50+ miles and several pairs of the previous versions (yellow and grey model) for 1000+ miles. This new version I find reasonably comfortable. They are slightly tighter than the older model, which felt odd at first, but with some wear they are loosening up and I think they will actually be a better fit in the long run. Compared to Solomon shows they have a much wider footprint and a more comfortable profile in my opinion. They also don't smell as much as waterproof models as the material is kept light and easily washable. One of the best shoes out there for trail and hill running. Highly rated in my opinion.

Far less cumbersome than an average trail shoe. Light & responsive. Great grip. Low drop makes for natural running position as I'm mid/front foot runner. Not great on road sections though.

Bought these for general trails and fastpacking. They fit well, a little narrow at first but the toebox soon spread once broken in. I run 10km training trails in these, very, very nice grip. Light and drain well. Recently ran 62.5km in them over a two and a half day overnight fastpacking trek. It was hot, then windy, then very wet. These shoes worked well in all conditions and dryed out overnight when stored in my bivvy from my body heat so I had dry shoes the next day. Perfect!I am very pleased with these shoes.

Great trail shoes for the price. I’ve run on tarmac as well as trail/mud in these and they not deteriorated too much. Only criticism is they are a little tight across the top of the foot and toe so I’d recommend going up half a size.

Important to note it is too soon to review as only done a couple of runs. So far felt a little weird on the roads , great on soft ground and felt little too narrow for my feet. I am looking forward to really testing them on muddy terrain.

This is my 4th pair of these excellent trainers, a great fit and each pair did a lot of mileage! Not the most important factor, but the new colour scheme looks great..
