Highly recommended for any coffee obsessives! Interesting and informative it takes you through the origins of Blue Bottle as well as detailing how to make great coffee on various scales, including roasting your own beans (pretty simple using a popcorn maker on a small scale!). Also included in the back are lovely recipes. Great as a look book with good photos as well as fab read.

Lovely book, very informative and looks great! The pictures are very good. Contains a lot of info and little facts along with recipes for both drinks and cakes etc. to eat while drinking a cup. This is exactly the quality that you'd expect from a brand like Blue Bottle (who operate a number of stores in the USA and have recently opened up in Tokyo. Highly recommended to anyone into their coffee!

Great book, beautiful design, insight into all things coffee. However be warned approximately 40% of the book is recipes for coffee shop cakes and savoury recipes, a little disappointing given the price point of book. The recipes are excellent its just not what I was expecting when buying a coffee book. The Kindle version of the book is great value but the hardback is truly a beautiful coffee book.

Excellent book. Mixes a life story, humour and a lot of fact. Some good recipes included. We saw this book at their premises in the states (good coffee!), but didn’t want to carry it home. A good book for coffee lovers whether you’re an expert or novice.

This book had me hooked at the Introduction…it's a beautifully crafted piece of printed matter, but it's also funny and warming…and honest in its approach from a leader in the speciality coffee world. The book is cram-packed full of great information and recipes. The informative sections are incredibly well written and very visual, so is a real dream for digesting information. Recipes look amazing too. Anyone into speciality coffee should buy this book. It's a favourite in our home…we fight over it!

An excellent introduction to coffee from bean to cup. James Freeman's love for and commitment to coffee leaps from the pages. His journey from musician to coffee buff is amusing and informative. The book covers several key areas - growing, roasting, making etc in sufficient detail for anyone with limited knowledge will find helpful.

Fundierter Hintergrund Informationen und ein ansprechend gestaltetes Layout machen dieses Buch zu einem must-have für Kaffeeliebhaber. Zusätzlich ist das Buch gespickt mit kleinen Anekdoten. Wie immer reicht dieses Buch zwar nicht um direkt der home-barista zu werden, dennoch werden realistische Einschätzung zur Anschaffung von Espressomaschine, -mühle und Co.

代表的なコーヒー抽出方法を紹介している本です。生豆〜焙煎は割愛しています。おそらくコーヒー好きの一般購読者に向けて執筆されたのでしょう。 しかし、フード関連はかなり重点をおいて紹介されており、参考になりました。 サードウェイブが日本の喫茶店の逆輸入であることは改めて理解できました。 良書です。
