POWERTEC 70190V 4-Inch by 2-1/2-Inch Y-Fitting Dust Collection Hose Connector, 1 PK

Straightforward product that works well. I used this to split off a smaller section of dust collection hose from my main 4in line to a 2.5in line that leads to my miter saw. You obviously need hose clamps or tape to connect everything up, but this works well. The plastic seems thick and durable. Wish the price was just a touch lower since the price of all these different adapters in even a modest dust collection system really adds up, but otherwise good splitter.

So, let me lead with saying I have no idea what this was actually intended for by the manufacturer. All I know is I needed a 4 inch "nominal" diameter object to connect from the intake of a 1997 F250 7.3L to a NAPA 6637 filter because I leaned too hard on the stock intake box and broke the plastic (thereby ruining that whole "seal" thing that supposed to happen to prevent dust from getting sucked into the engine.) I visited the hardware store first and came up with a few mediocre solutions with PVC fittings that would... work... then saw this. For less money, this solves the problem by actually fitting (OD of the truck's fittings was about 4 1/4, ID about 3 7/8 - this fits in the ID with a little bit of give that you can clamp down on with a 4" hose clamp on either end). Again, don't know what this thing was SUPPOSED to be fore, but it sure does do a great job as a cheap intake pipe for my truck :-)

Works perfectly with the other powertec fittings to create a simple and very effective dust collection for dw735 planer. I chose to use a 45 in this position to help maintain velocity and reduce the chance of plugging. So far so good.

If you are like me, you have conjured up more than one blue fog when dealing with "4-inch" fittings for your dust collection system. It's as if "4-inch" is just a suggestion. That said, if you give up and use a rubber 4" inch connector you can make most anything fit to most anything this. With a rubber connector, this elbow works really well at the intake port of my wall mounted dust collector, keeping the hose from kinking and clogging. Doesn't take up much room, the dust and chips flow better, the hose is happy, and so am I.

It fit's tightly, I doubt that it would come apart, even without the vacuum drawing all the parts in tighter. If you're trying to estimate cutting lengths, the straight pieces insert ~5/6" to ~7/8" into the coupler at each side.

Does what it’s designed to do

First packages I recieved was packaged wrong. Ordered 4 inch package even said 4 inch but had 2 1/2 inch in packaging instead. Quick email to customer service and they sent me out a replacement overnight!! I use these to block off the end of my dust collection pipe so I can add to it later on down the road if needed. Feel durable and should last a long time. Very easy to install and Fitment is a bit loose but a hose clamp fixed that problem not a big deal.

Great quality and as expected. I use it on a sawmill dust discharge.
