Thinking persons romcom
I hate that word 'rom-com' but inevitably have to watch the latest gooey and not funny hollywood rubbish just to keep my fiance happy every so often. She doesn't like anything you have to use your brain in and therefore falls asleep.I remembered this film the other day as I had originally seen it back in the 90's and had fond memories, thinking it could suit her as well as me. After ordering it and watching it again I'm glad I did. This film is light hearted enough and sure it's a bit cliched at times but it genuinely is better than almost any romantic comedy I have seen in the last decade. It's not taxing but it is certainly a little deeper and thoughtful, you can just sit back and enjoy. It has a more viceral feel than most and is more relatable I would imagine to most people.I think it is a bit misleading going on too much about the grunge. I'm a rock fan certainy, not really grunge though, but it didn't detract at all and it didn't eat up so much of the movie like some reviews have suggested. The grunge is just a function of the fact they are based in Seattle at a time when you couldn't have moved for that kind of sound then probably so it really adds to it but doesn't overpower the film in any way. The rest of the soundtrack is great too.I would recommend this film to any guy who wants to pacify their Mrs with a film that is truely charming, not vacuous and braindead like most bile that is produced these days.Disclaimer - sorry to Ladies, I know I'm generalising slightly, bordering on misogyny based on my better half so please excuse my ignorance.

Have Fun, Stay Single!
There is just one word that keeps popping up in my head when I think of this film: AWESOME!I've seen this so many times and it never gets old because it's such a great story of a bunch of friends that live in the same Apartment Block and have hit challenging moments in their love-lives, accompanied by great music by bands such as the amazing Alice In Chains and Soundgarden (both of whom do live sets in the Movie!)This is a great feel-good Seattle-Movie that you'll want to watch over and over again. I'm trying to write a good, descriptive review of this but all I think I really need to say about this is it's one of the best takes on Love ever made, and it's an instant classic! I love it!!

Grunge Fest
I watched Singles last night and I definitely recommend it. Yes, it has that element of chick flick about it, but it’s not schmaltzy or sickly in anyway, plus you get to see and hear Seattle as it should be seen and heard.Eddie Vedder, Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament from PJ & Chris Cornell have cameo appearances and AIC & Soundgarden are actually seen playing live! Even if you’re not a fan of the story, which is about a group of twenty-something’s relationship issues, you *have* to watch it purely for the soundtrack. Chris Cornell was the musical advisor, so you know it ain’t gonna suck!If grunge is your thing (it is definitely mine!) get this film a for trip down memory lane that will leave you with a warm fuzzy feeling to help you through these long winter evenings for at least a few days…

Incredible Cameron Crowe Craftsmanship.
Could be written off as a comedy romance set in Seattle, however Cameron Crowe delivers a beautifully crafted film with excellent performances from his actors. Add an incredible soundtrack and the film has five stars written all over it.

'Where were you in 92?'
A slice of early 90's life, and a love letter to Seattle. This tale of six twenty somethings looking for love in all the wrong places, became an instant cult classic largely in part to a fantastic soundtrack that perfectly showcased the Seattle sound of the late 1980' early 1990's. The script is sharp and witty, and the characters while of possibly of their time would be know to anyone who grew up in that time. Warner Bros would later recycle the basic idea, move it to New York and create the smash hit Friends.

Tippety top of the tree
I love this film so much and have done for ages. It captures a moment in time when Seattle was centre of the musical universe briefly. Ok it's a love story, nothing wrong with that, when done well, but it's more than that, it has heart and soul, musical and otherwise. A must see for any who likes Cameron "Jerry Maguire" Crow's work and appreciates the Seattle sound of the 80's- Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains etc.... Tippety top of the tree.FYI the blu ray plays on my UK only machine. Bonus.

If you don't like this - you are wrong!
It is fair to say that the exceptional soundtrack carries the movie - but(as stated in previous reviews here) it is a reasonable film in it's own right that captures the early 90s grunge love scene perfectly. Suffers a little from the "you had to be there" syndrome - well worth a watch. Also look out for a cheap disc of Christian Slater's "Pump Up The Volume" a similarly aged movie that makes for an excellent doubleheader retro night in front to the telly ;)

Entertaining
Lots of people of my generation raved about it and I had not seen it so I bought it based on that. It was entertaining enough but it's not one of the greats, in my view.

Classic early 90's grunge angst.
Beautiful hi res presentation and yes it is identical to the North American release.
