Excellent product, great for budding science fans
Excellent set - contains most things needed to make the crystals. Great present for my 8 year old daughter for Christmas, and well loved already!

Good learning experience !
Bought for my daughter, and she liked it very much. She learned a lot about crystals and the experiments were all easy to carry out.A few extra containers were needed, but nothing expensive, so I would recommend thisproduct !

Great home science set.
It is complicated at times, and there are chemicals involved, so you have to supervise at all times. The wait for certain experiments a little frustrating for my 8 year old, but the results are worth it. Great home science.

Enjoyable Education
I bought this for my great nephew, but he doesn't live near me' so I couldn't see him make any crystals, but his mum said he made a large crystal, which developed overnight, and put it in the treasure chest. It sounds so fascinating that I may buy a kit myself!

Rubbish crystalls
Managed to grow some miserably looking crystals in two months time!!! Not over 1 night as it stated in the book. The chemicals given in small amounts. The results are very poor, despite I am a scientist so probably know how to find my way around. Hence I believe the price is way to high for such material.Better to grow cooking salt or sugar crystals. Kids will be disappointed as the results are nothing like the marvellous picture on the box.

Beware of extra expense!
Good set for kids but the extras needed cost me a small fortune.

Time consuming!
I bought this for my son for Christmas. He loves rocks and gems and I thought "creating" some would definitely be a great idea. What I was not prepared for was the amount of time each experiment took. If you have time (days) to put into this and a child with the patience to go through it, this is worth the purchase! My son and I went through some of the experiments, and he loved every minute of it. The formations it makes are really astounding, and it ends in hours/days of excitement for the child. From day 1, my son was wanting to create, and he and I worked on the things we made together.Again, make sure you have time that you'll be able to set aside if you purchase this for someone. It is worth the time spent.

Very nice kit
I bought this for my daughter and I to do together, which we proceeded to do over the course of about 6 months. All of the experiments are simple and fun. It took us a couple of tries at first to get crystals to form (use distilled water! save yourself the trouble), but once we got the hang of it, it was fun. We ended up with several nice pieces and loads of good memories. If I have any complaints, it's that nothing we made looked quite as nice as the box art, but I guess that's par for the course. It was certainly worth our time and our money, and I would 100% recommend this for kids who like experiments (although you'll almost certainly need to help, esp. at first). Also, this set requires patience, as most of the experiments span several days of prep and crystal formation. I would suggest for ages 8+.
