Darkly & Addictive Modern Fairytale
“My Dark Romeo” by L.J. Shen and Parker S. Huntington is a masterfully written, slow-burn romance that will keep you hooked from the first page to the last. This isn’t your average love story—it’s a decadent, deliciously twisted take on the classic Beauty and the Beast, pulsing with sass, wit, and unexpected tenderness. From the glittering debutante ball where a single, fateful kiss changes everything, to the high-stakes world of billionaire heirs and family legacies, every detail is perfectly crafted. The chemistry between Romeo and Dallas is electric—equal parts animosity and undeniable attraction. The tension simmers, building into a romance that’s as spicy as it is heartfelt, never feeling gratuitous but always leaving you wanting more.Romeo is the ultimate dark beast: haunted by betrayal, driven by revenge, and determined to use Dallas as a pawn in his ruthless game. Yet, beneath his icy exterior, there’s a vulnerability that slowly emerges as the story unfolds. Dallas, on the other hand, is a breath of fresh air—a southern belle raised in privilege, yet desperate to carve out her own identity. Watching her transformation from sheltered heiress to fierce, cunning heroine is one of the novel’s greatest delights. The supporting cast is just as compelling, each character adding depth and intrigue to the story. The authors weave in family drama, old wounds, and the ever-present threat of scandal, making every chapter feel urgent and necessary. What truly sets “My Dark Romeo” apart is the way it balances darkness with hope. This is a story about rewriting your fate, about finding strength in vulnerability, and about love that refuses to be tamed. The ending is both satisfying and surprising—a perfect conclusion to a wild, unforgettable ride.If you crave a romance that’s equal parts angsty, seductive, and empowering, “My Dark Romeo” is an absolute must-read. Five stars isn’t enough for this intoxicating modern day fairytale!

Romeo is swoon worthy ......
I did end up enjoying this book in the end. I wasn’t sure that I would at the beginning, but as I got into about the midway point and understood what drove the character actions it made more sense. I do have to say I still didn’t like the bratty rich kid actions of Dallas. It carried on way too long in the book and made her a very unlikable character. She seemed to have very little substance as she only really had one goal in life. On the other hand, I loved Romeo. His actions and walls were totally understandable from earlier trauma in his life and I totally felt for him.I know that miscommunication in romance novels is supposed to add to the suspense of the books, but it really isn’t my thing. I want all the good feels. The ending …. Well it was short. I like a little bit more of the good after so much turmoil throughout. There were also a few things that were left up in the air that I wish would have had more closure. Will I read the next book in this series ... probably but it won't be my next read.

great enemy to lovers read!
I read/saw a lot of reviews on here & TikTok about how this book wasn’t all that great. But I absolutely LOVED it! I loved the banters between Romeo & Dallas. Some reviews I read/saw said the bantering & some of the spice scenes was cringy & a bit much. But I thought it was perfect for an enemy to lovers book. Dallas got on my nerves a smidge with how childish she acted. But overall I loved how she never backed down & stood her ground.

very mid
I was definitely disappointed because I love both of these authors sooo much!! The book wasn’t that bad just some of the writing was so incredibly cringe and Dallas irked the mess out of me. Her whole personality was just liking food and then there was this odd bit about being anti college which was super random. I also felt like the enemies to lovers wasn’t really played out. They were enemies and then it just flipped to lovers and all of a sudden they were in love with each other. It wasn’t very gradual.

Slow start but I enjoyed it when it started picking up. This is my favorite trope to read and I love how mean and bratty Dallas was. I almost wish Romeo was meaner and less dismissive.
