Excellent product well designed and manufactured
I was tired of having to constantly clean my gutters even going so far this year of hiring a company to come and preform the service. I have a 2-story house with the gutters on one side being over 24 ft from the ground. This sent me down the rabbit hole to find a solution. I watched a lot of YouTube and searched Amazon looking at reviews. One of the reviews I read was from an engineering discussion the pro and cons of various systems. I too am an engineer so I evaluate and research most purchases with an eye for design, durability and function. I made the investment of time and cost as I purchased several samples to evaluate on my own.I am in Texas and I have Arizona Ash trees that put out a ton of seedpods in the fall and another tree with small leaves. If I had known what I know now I would have gotten rid of the Arizona Ash trees when they were small, but it is too late for that now. In addition, since I am in Texas I do not have to deal with ice dams so take that into consideration. Regardless, all of this debris ends up in my gutters clogging the downspouts which have to be cleaned by spring when the rains come. After evaluating the samples I got, by putting them on a low section of gutters using the leaves and seedpods with a water hose my conclusion was the Waterlock DIY system from Art of Gutters was the best for my situation. I will emphasize this there are multiple systems out there, plus several companies trying to sell you stuff. You need evaluate your roof pitch, gutters and tree foliage to determine the best solution. A great reference is the YouTube channel called “Gutter Guards Direct” the guy does a great job of explaining each system and conducts real world tests on his own house. One point made in the videos is that no matter how good the design is, if the installation of the gutters and the gutter guards are not correct your experience will be greatly affected. I 100% agree with this. I did contact a few gutter companies and costs were above what I intended, plus I knew I could at least do as good or better as anyone else.On to my experience, with Waterlock DIY.• Overall, the design and construction are excellent. The Aluminum is a good gauge and micro mesh was the right size for me. I have 5-inch gutters.• The DIY version was easy to install and comes with self-driving screws that match the color.• Depending on your gutters you will have to make some modification as needed to get every section to fit. I did as you will discovery most gutters are poorly installed and you will have to work around those issues. I would suggest getting a good pair of straight cut tin snips. Plus, gloves not to thick so you can feel the screws. I use red Milwaukee gloves exclusively and they worked great.• Because of my need to prevent anything from getting in my gutters I made a few modifications. I intentionally increased the overlap between each section to 1/2 inch by cutting this back before install. Then I would use a couple of screws to secure the overlap between sections.• On exterior corners I would cut off the micro mesh from drop pieces and make a cover to fill gaps at the 45 and hold down with screws.• At the start and end of runs I would make an overlap and screw down the straight edge this way nothing can get under the ends. Be aware this will leave exposed screws but no one really notices from the ground plus my goal is to keep stuff out of the gutters.• Finally, and most important, work as safely as possible. I purchased a ladder stabilizer (Werner), No Bull end caps for the stabilizer, I recommend both. I had a helper with me most of the time and I worked slowly and intentionally. Take your time and you will get the job done.Last comment: The gutter guards have been on a few weeks and so far the results are good. We have had a few rains, no noticeable overrun of water and the leave once dry just blow off.

Very good quality guards
I spent 2 weeks researching all the different option available, both installed and DIY. There are a lot of choices I landed on these gutter guards and purchased the 11" sample. Obviously this option allows you to test the gutter guards for fit before buying the footage you need for the job. They supplied plenty of self tapping screws with white heads to match the guards. The installation was easy. On one side the screen extends about a quarter inch to overlap the guard next to it making the joint impenetrable. It took me a couple of days to complete the installation. During the installation I noticed the shingle sand could not penetrate the screen. Overall I am very happy with the purchase. The ultimate test will be in the fall when the leafs and pine needles fly.

Waterlock 5" gutter guard sample
Package arrived when promised and was not damaged. This sample made it very easy to test fit in several locations along my gutters plus confirm the color choice. This is a great way to preview the product. Made my decision to order an easy one.

A breeze to install once you get a rhythm going.
I've always been a DIY person. I read some of the reviews. Went to one of the big box stores. What they had to offer was low quality compared to this product. I accomplished the installation in just a few hours. I'm 65 so I'm not as quick as I use to be going up and down a ladder. Attached a photo of the finished job. I'll be ordering another box of 48' for the back gutter.

Great guards
Had gutter guards installed — now the gutters don’t get clogged with leaves and I don’t have to climb up on the roof every season. Great solution for saving time and avoiding blockages.

Solid micromesh gutter guard
Very good quality and craftsmanship product. Fits gutter perfectly and installation was simple with attached self tapping screws. Just drill small holes in outer edge of gutter guard for easier installation. Highly recommended.

Easy to install
Easy to install. Easy to cut with tin snips. Had some gaps at the ends but was able to cover them with some window screen that I bought from the hardware store. Would have given five stars but the ad said 1/2” lap on the mesh which was only 1/4” or less. Think a little more would have been better. Haven’t had any rain since I installed them so can’t comment on that part yet
