This is a fantastic tool! I own a Hewlet Packard HP ZBook 15 G5 laptop PC which has two slots for M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD cards, and wanted to remove and replace the installed SSD. Despite using the correct size screwdriver for the small M2x3mm cross-head screw holding the board in place, the head of screw quickly stripped. It seems HP, like many other manufacturers, used a strong thread lock compound on the screw, making it almost impossible to remove! I tried using my set of Moody mini screw extractors with no luck. I then tried super-gluing a screwdriver into the head of the screw, but after curing for 24 hours the bond quickly broke when I applied torque to the screwdriver. I purchased these pliers as a last resort, after which I was resolved to sending my laptop to HP to see if they could remove the stripped screw (which would have been an expensive and time-consuming process). The pliers arrived today, and I set to work this evening. The head of the screw is very thin - less than 1mm, by my estimate - however the pliers easily and securely gripped it without sliding off. Because of where the screw is positioned, it is obstructed by part of the inner PC chassis, so I was only able to rotate it perhaps 1 degree at a time. However, after a few minutes easy work I managed to fully unscrew it, and without any damage or scratching to the SSD board and PC chassis. I may never need to use these pliers again, but even for just this one occasion they have saved me considerable time and money, making an incredibly frustrating job quite simple. I should also mention that they're superb quality, over-engineered and finished to a standard I've come to expect from Japanese tools. Best few quid I've spent in quite some time. Highly, highly recommended.

I bought this product for removal of a stripped m2 SSD screw that was properly stuck into my laptop, preventing installation of a m.2 ssd stick for *MONTHS*, blue loctite and all! I previously had purchased a drill bit set, which ended up doing more damage to the screw surface, and not much else. In comparison, these pliers were able to easily and immediately loosened the screw with just a smidge of a twist. I was forced to take it slow and steady, due to the screw being in a location that prevented full rotation. Less than 5 minutes later, it was fully out! The head of the pliers is definitely able to reach into tight spaces, the grip of the jaws onto the head is perfect, and the handles are easy to grab and keep hold of. I recommend this whole-heartedly.

Japanese-made import. Did great on two rounded-off flathead screws when all other methods on the internet failed – rubber band, superglued-in screwdriver tip, using Dremel type tool to cut a groove into the screw face for a flat bladed screwdriver etc (which was unsuccessful as its height was less than 1mm). Squeeze the handles only tightly enough to stop the pliars slipping both around and off the problem screw. And initially it is best to rotate by a few degrees in a controlled manner, as despite the steel construction the contacting ridges on the jaws are necessarily shallow for gripping the outside edges of very small diameter screwheads. Consequently they can be deformed out of shape permanently if too much pressure is applied. A previous reviewer recommended tapping the screw's face if practical to help unstick threads (which I did), applying a light penetrating fluid if rusted or particularly tight is also an idea. Were it allowed, half a star could be knocked off for the seemingly high price of these small pliers, yet it is clearly a specialist tool. 5 stars is definitely justified however when factoring in its high quality Japanese construction, comfortable-to-hold esd-safe handles if you have average sized hands and most of all, the relief of getting out of what are highly frustrating, near impossible situations! I could not find a similar product from another manufacturer. Who knows, maybe thanks to the UK-Japan trade deal signed around 12 months ago these and Engineer's other products will eventually cost less.

I spent a couple hours each evening trying to get a screw out of an M2 (SSD) slot in an ASUS TUF f15 laptop. There was a second slot which was really not budging at all. I googled around and I found out that ASUS use something called blue loctite which is a threading thing, basically glue. This screw was not going to budge, and putting more force on it would result in either the head of the screw slipping or me breaking the computers motherboard. I wasn't looking forward to either. I held off on the soldering iron because I was terrified I'd mess it up, and what was worse is that the soldering iron had no heat control or timer, safety, etc. I heard that this might work. I went to check the ifixit site because they do a load of tutorials and the shop mentioned nejisaurus 57s, so I went on Amazon and searched for one. This was it, and lest to say, I was not disappointed. It resolved the issue in seconds and it didn't even seem to damage the screw, so, straight back in the hole it has gone, now securing the new SSD. This is what you want. I haven't touched computer repair in literally over 10 years and it's my first time doing it with a laptop, and between ifixit guides and this thing managed to upgrade some parts and get it all done unscathed. I just wish I had this tool sooner as it would have saved me at least 4-5 days. Only got a few seconds of use out of it but got the tool for anything else in the future now, and saved hours. So it's kinda paid for itself in a weird way. If you're new or experienced at tech repair this is what you need. Even just the tip of this thing can grab a screw and it's actually impressive how effective it is.

Tuve una experiencia de terror al ser principiante en estar modificado mi Steam Deck, para amplificar su SSD. Al principio tenía demasiada confianza de que iba a ser un proceso facil, ya que habia tenido poca experiencia haciendo cambios similares. Confiando de mis herramientas (no tan buenas al parecer) barri este tornillo, y hice lo que nunca debes de hacer que es forzarlo hasta que pierda forma. Intente de los dos métodos universales: el del pegamento y la liga de goma. Ninguno funciono. Buscando en foros de Reddit respecto a este tipo de problema, especifico del tornillo del SSD de la Steam Deck, encontre a alguien que sugerio esta herramienta, fue el llamado divino que me hizo tener la solución! Al principio no tenia esperanzas, ya que intente ligeramente hacerlo con otra herramienta similar a esta, pero no funcionó. Pero, la compre aun asi, y vaya que ni fuerza le tuve que poner para sacar el tornillo! Una maravilla de herramienta. Tuve mucho cuidado de no dañar nada de la SSD de fabrica, y no hubo nada de problema. Muy recomendable, al parecer ese tipo de tornillos son un dolor de cabeza, al ser tan delicados. Así que si también sufres de este problema y te llevo a esta herramienta, mi recomendación es: ¡Comprala! Funciona bastante bien

Hab mir jetzt schon 4 Zangen von Engineer gekauft, diese hier, eine fantastische Micro-Crimpzange, eine genau so fantastische Micro-Abisolierzange, und eine Kleinst-Kombinationszange. Mit allen bin ich schwerstens zufrieden, eher sogar begeistert von ihnen. Habe sonst bei mir zuhause nur Zangen von Knipex und Wiha, also deutsches Qualitätswerkzeug, mit dem ich auch schwer zufrieden bin. Aber die Deutschen Hersteller bieten keine vergleichbaren Produkte an (Micro-Crimper, Abisolieren bis AWG 34, sogar 36, ganz kleine Kombizange mit Schneide und Rillen), deshalb hab ich eben zufällig Engineer hier gefunden, gekauft, ... war begeistert, habe mehr gekauft. Die Marke steht den Deutschen bezüglich Qualität IMO keinesfalls nach, die Abisolierzange ist sogar besser als die vergleichbaren (größeren) von Wera. Dieser Schraubenausdreher bzw. die Schraubenausdreher-Zange ist eine super Sache. Auch wenn der Kopf schon abgedreht ist, aber noch etwas "Fleisch heraussteht", kriegt man die Schrauben manchmal noch raus. Bei ausgenudelten Schrauben sowieso kein Problem. Ich bin schwerstens zufrieden. Top Qualität, top Funktionalität. Lieferung aus Großbritannien (Händler Precise Hand Tools Ltd) weitaus schneller als von Amazon vorausgesagt, 2 - 3 Werktage. Alles super! Warum bieten die Deutschen keine vergleichbaren Produkte an? (v.a. der Micro-Crimper ist genial). Wer auf Qualitätswerkzeug ala Knipex, Wera, Wiha und Co. schwört, kann sich ruhig auch mal Engineer aus Japan näher ansehen. Er wird nicht enttäuscht werden. Hat nichts mit dem Billig-Ramsch aus China zu tun, der überall für wenig Geld angeboten wird. Nicht billig, aber das Geld allemal wert!

This tool save me a lot of time removing stripped screws! with ESD safe it works perfectly in my line of work! This has been a life saver for me.

I tried everything to get those stubborn ssd and heat sink screws off my laptop. I tried heat, rubber bands, all the right screwdrivers and the big pliers at home but none worked and everyone told me to get those overpriced vampliers But this mini plier did the job just right It was my last hope and it worked wonderfully

I had my doubts for this and had kept this in wish list for few months, before actually ordering it. One of the screws in the cooling chamber of my laptop was damaged, the screw head was all messed up. The plier is great for M2 screw sizes (laptop screws etc), it is actually not very big in size and that makes it ideal for such screw sizes. Highly recommended, changing thermal paste can give a performance boost and increase the longevity of your laptop, I guess 2.5k is worth the price.
