Surprisingly effective
I also have the ifi nano iusb 3.0. I think that the extent to which these devices will make a difference to any system depends on the system (in particular how well the USB has been integrated into the dac) and also whether the rest of the system is sufficiently refined so that improvements in detail in the dac are not masked elsewhere. In my experience these devices make a significant difference to the NAD D1050 and NAD M51 and a less significant but still noticeable difference to the Chord Mojo.I listen to high resolution classical music through dedicated headphone amps and either HD800, HD650 or Sony XBA Z5.I find that adding the isilencer at the computer USB further improves the nano iusb when using either the NAD D1050 or M51 but makes no discernible improvement to the Chord Mojo when also using the iusb. Further, I find that using just the iusb 3.0 brings better definition than just the isilencer for the NAD D1050 and M51 but makes no difference over the isilencer to the Chord Mojo.In other words for the Chord Mojo I find the isilencer to be just as effective as the iusb with both offering a silimar improvement to clarity. But for the NAD D1050 and M51 I find the iusb to be better then the isilencer and the isilencer + iusb to be a little better still.I have been surprised by the degree of improvement these devices have made to my systems (and my consequent involvement in the music) and I can recommend that if you are considering either the isilencer or iusb you give either or both a try. You may be surprised too. Both items were plug-and-play straight out of the box with no apparent driver installs.

Does the job
I placed this between my streamer (Primare NP5) and a USB stick carrying my music (as recommended by Primare themselves) and it seems to work fine - there have been no problems listening to my music.

Looks ike a qality item, but no good for me in my situation set up
I have a Siemens Esprimo PC connected to a Focusrite Saphire 6USB and a load of other studio equipment. definitely almost all the noise was coming from the USB connection to this Sound interface box. strange sounds coming through all sounded like the workings of the PC e.g. when I moved teh mouse purring sounds, apps loading (probably HD working) etc.. I installed the unit in passthrough on the USB cable. It made absolutely no difference at all to sound cleanliness. Immediately sent it back for a full refund. The Supplier was excellent in sending it to me in teh first place at speed and eventually processing the refund - 5 stars for that :)

I wanted it to be good, but...
I have used this in three different system those being;-NUC media streamer running Daphile with a linear Power Supply-Musical Fidelity M6 DAC-Musical Fidelity Kw500 amp-B&W 802n-Chord Company interconnections used throughoutI found that it reduced the noise floor but squashed the dynamics making the music a lot less enjoyable, it also removed the bass. I was not too bothered as it was not bought for that system and I honestly did not expect a £45 gadget to improve the sound of a £9000 system. Then I tested it with the following;-Macbook Pro-Cheap Ebay Chinese portable DAC powered by a powerbank-Sony XBA Z3 headphonesI was having problems with a noisy signal and bought the iSilencer and along with a Fisual Havana USB cable the USB cable arrived first and solvedthe inference problem and the iSilencer made no significant difference positive or negative. I also got my Fiancee to listen as she has "magic ears"and she heard no difference in blind tests either way. Then Finally;-Windows 7 PC-Topping VX1 Amp/Dac-KEF Q1Again no change to the sound positive or negative.I came to the conclusion that I have bought and very well packaged very short usb cable as it does little to improve the sound.

works very well
My second IFI product, the first being a purifier2; this Silencer has a similar type of effect. Connected between pc and dac/headphone amp, the background is blacker and the music flows better. Also Ive heard a lot of very quiet stuff in the music that without the silencer, I never quite caught.Very much a worthwhile buy.

Squished the bug
Bought and returned another well-known USB audio noise killer as it didn't do much. The Silencer did more, a lot more. I only have a reasonably priced Schit audio dac amp but from the forums they don't do much to clean up the USB data and power line as they have their own decrappyfier for 100 quid. Anyway the iSilencer does the business for half the price. I have read that the USB power ports are joined up so more noise is killed by more of these products. Love the Amazon speedy service of sending out the iSilencerPositives -i. It works better than othersii. USB3 technology which is better than USB2 techNegatives -i. 50 quid is not a stealii. Can't fit two side by side easily
