HP High-End Virtualization Server 36-Core 512GB RAM 16TB DL360 G9 (Renewed)

A friend of mine sent this listing to me, and I thought it was too good to be true, but I was in need of a virtualization server, and the price was incredible. The product arrived on time, and was packaged incredibly well with padding throughout the box. I got it unpacked, hooked up a monitor, plugged into power on the wall, it turned on without issues and after about 5 minutes I was sitting at the Windows server login. All hard drives are genuine 4tb HP SAS drives (which is great as it means ILO doesn't freak out and run the fans at 100%) in raid 0. I changed the drives to run as a raid 10 8tb drive, and installed proxmox without issues, and I've now got multiple Vms created and running. Overall an amazing deal for an amazing product.

Purchased this for data analysis so just need CPU cores and massive memory. This fits the bill. Received it three days ago, slid it into my rack and plugged it in, checked everything is working, loaded my data on to it, and have been running it pretty hard for two days now. Everything is as listed and functioning exactly as expected. The server even had a sticker on it with contact information if anything is wrong. Really happy so far and I highly recommend.

Long Review.This is for the renewed Proliant DL360 gen 9 server. It was packed well when I got it and had two power cords in the box with it. I immediately plugged it in and started it. However the video out is VGA and as I don't have an adapter I could not tell if it could boot up. I bought an adapter from Best Buy but all that I could see on the monitor were two vertical bars of display and they were too narrow to tell much. The server does have a PCIE slot so then I went to Microcenter and bought an old Geforce 10xx card. Once the card was installed I had display but the machine would freeze on the HP screen. Thinking there was an issue with it booting I called support. The support number on the top of the server forwarded to a cell phone voice mailbox, which didn't give me a lot of hope. Less than two hours later I received a call back. The support person was fantastic. They spent a couple of hours on the phone with me troubleshooting the server. The issue was that the adapter I got from Best Buy was junk and the video card I got from Microcenter did not accurately display the server state. I spent around 15 more dollars on an adapter from Amazon and when I plugged it in the machine booted up. At least of the server fans was loud, needs replacement - costs a few dollars and could have been replaced by vendor. Have to do it myself now.

What a great modern virtualization server for the price! No surprises. Exact memory, cpu and disk as advertised. Excellent packaging. Was pleasantly surprised to see the latest SPP was already applied. Came with evaluation copy of Windows Server 2019, but HP offers a free Proliant ESXi ISO that's ready to roll. Very pleased all the way around.

Server arrived ahead of schedule, packed securely and in good condition. Very clean, with minor blemishes on case and front bezel. It came with updated BIOS, ILO and firmware and with dual power cords, a nice extra. CPU/Memory/Disk were as advertised. The disks were even setup in a hardware RAID0 for me. I popped in the ILO network cable and one of the other 4 main network cables, powered up and was able to find the DHCP for the ILO to log in and continue my setups. I dropped on Proxmox 8.3 and I was spinning up VM's within a few hours. Comes with Win 2019Eval, but I did not keep it. Very affordable for a home lab where the hardware's EOL status does not really matter to me.

Don't believe the few negative reviews.Got exactly what the product description says!Note: Ive bought 4 used servers off amazon over the last few years. For the cheap price expect a few things to go bad. CMOS / RAID batteries. Hard drives will fail. They were used for years. What you should focus on is ram and cpu if the system checks out on those 2 items just buy/replace the other stuff that fails.

I bought this as a virtualization server. Received it on time with some issues. Customer service was friendly and responsive, returning my messages within minutes.Received the replacement about 10 days ago. Everything is as listed and running exactly as expected. Installed Proxmox VE 8.0 with the raid controller. 3 HDs on raid 5 with one hot spare HD, which provides best data security and capacity I can imagine with 4 HDs. Now, I have a couple VMs created and running.Very happy with my purchase and the customer service. Highly recommend.
