Rugged Quality
I wanted a rain jacket for chilly, pre-snow conditions and am satisfied that this was one of my best acquisitions ever. I read carefully most of the preceding reviews and have a couple of comments to add to the discussion. First, I did not find it necessary to wash the jacket before wearing it; there was no pungent smell to dispel and I did not want to compromise the moisture-shedding oils. Second, the snaps are indeed, as noted my several reviewers, troublesome. They come undone too readily and the proposed remedy of rapping them with a hammer to flatten them for tighter seating has a rather hit-or-miss success rate.
