Wow...way better than I had expected.
Wow...way better than I had expected. Can't understand some of the "other" reviews. I like tools and often make my own. This falls in that category. I'm facing an onslaught of several invasive vines: kudzu, running blackberry, wisteria, English ivy, and wild Carolina jessamine. This tool was larger and heavier than I expected so I was very pleased. I have purchased at least half a dozen "sythe" type tools from Amazon and some from the local farm store. This I will place in the heavy duty farm class hand tool. Yes I will have to fabricate a handle but I do this anyway for most of the tools that come with a small handle. These vines will overgrow a chainlink gate so that it can't be closed. I usually make an extension handle out of steel or PVC tube (pipe or conduit) so this tool fits right in. These invasive vines can grow to considerable diameter so some of the flimsy tools don't last. This tool was just as pictured. I will make a 2 foot and a 5 foot handle and will probably buy a second unit of this item so I don't have to switch handles. Manganese steel tends to be very tough for "blade" or digging tools so again this is a good design feature. This tool looks like it was made to be used as a "harvest" tool in Chinese agriculture. Put a handle on it and you have a great tool which I haven't found in any local stores...only in the Amazon listings.

Good product
Great tool. I added a long handle and it works great.

Very sharp
I purchased this for weeds. I couldn't find the weed hook I used to use on the farm. After installing a wooden handle. I put it to work in my garden and it worked beautifully. I even used the hatched side on small saplings and that worked also. It is very sharp so be careful taking it out of its package. It seems to hold an edge well also.

You get what you pay for.
I knew it would be junk. The concept is good. The tool this was ripped off from probably works really well. This tool however does not. The metal is 1/16 thick no good for much more than grass. There is no way it could go thru bamboo. The straight cutting edge is useless. I put the head on a handle and was able to cut grass and small stemmy weeds. When i got into thick weed stems, not trees or bamboo, the blade bent. Dont waste your time or money.

Nice weeder - good quality
This item has a heat tempered blade that is very sharp. I use it on a five foot pole I fashioned to cut my invasive weeds close to the ground. A quick pull cuts the weed stem. It will not work on woody stock.

Thin brittle metal, poor craftsmanship
I wanted this to be my new bush tool, for trailblazing in the forest. I disliked how the blade wasn't centered & was off to one side. I disliked the single hole for holding your tool handle in place. This axe side is definitely not for tree chopping, especially anything dry & large, it chips the blade. The sychthe is gonna chip the first rock you hit if you intend to use it on weeds. This is definitely not something to use as an Agricultural tool. I live in the south & it didn't last a full hour. Maybe for wall decor or things like cutting a small patch of grass with no rocks it would be ok.
