Makes a nylon halter safe
I insist on a breakaway strap when I use a nylon halter. These are simple to install and work as designed. Yes they break fairly easily, but that is why they are in the halter. Better to break a $2 strap than risk a major neck injury.

Used these to make my haters into break a ways. Had to trim to fit on very a brand haters and on smaller ones

Poor quality
These breakaways are too thin, and would break easily. Not sure if they are even made from a piece of leather, they look like they may be pressed leather composite. The quality is poor compared to Weaver (which is made in the USA) and this order will be returned.

NOT Leather
The item listing states that these pieces of fabric are “leather.” They aren’t. Cheap Pleather at best. Save your money.

It’s too thin and not strong
They are not strong enough and the leather rips with just a little tug. I’m not sure how it’s classified strong for equine use.

Easy to lose hardware
I love these breakaway strips, but I wish the hardware came in its own baggie. They are easy to lose and I cannot find just hardware replacements.
