Fails miserably as a cast and catch counter. Uses data from a buoy 9 miles away.
This item is useless. It tracks info from a buoy that in my case is 9 miles away. That is the closest one. The tracker misses a lot of casts and doesn’t always save data. Forget about it tracking catches. You save on the app a catch then later on the app/website it says zero. And didn’t save the photo. This is a great idea but needs a lot of work. My first item was clearly used and the second one performed just as bad. Do not waste the money all this is is a cast tracker and it fails at that. The free app is ok but can be used without the tracker. Very unreliable item.

Rating for customer service over product
If I were to rate this product alone, it'd probably be one or two stars. When I first got it, I was excited about the idea of being able to more thoroughly track my fishing trips. I'm a scientist by trade, so more data is very appealing to me. However, when I got the unit, I had issues charging. I contacted Anglr and they quickly responded and ended up sending me a new unit. I tried the new unit. It charged, as best as I could tell, but it just would not connect to my Anglr app. I ended up returning the second one for a replacement from Amazon. More charging issues.I contacted Anglr and after trying to troubleshoot, they offered to send me their Bullseye. I initially was hesitant of that because it didn't automatically detect bites and catches and offered much less functionality, but growing weary of Trackers not working, I decided to try the Bullseye.Connected to the phone immediately, and it's been pretty good. I click once for a landed fish and twice to mark a waypoint (I do this for fish that bite, but I don't get to shore). I really like the system as it has helped me identify some hotspots that, prior to using this, I could have only guessed at. I looked at the output of fish caught and bites, and it was pretty clear where they were congregating. I surf fish a lot and it's nice to see what structure is typically holding fish.I will say, though, that the app is a bit buggy and it's pretty obviously geared toward freshwater fishermen. While it gives lots of great data on weather, it does not currently track tides, which would be fantastic. It also does not have much in the way of saltwater fish. There is no way, that I could tell, to be able to manually add fish that are not in their database, which is unfortunate. And I've been having difficulty with retroactively editing points after a session is done. I'd like to load photos and add other data, but it does not seem to let me (there is an option to edit, but edits aren't sticking). I like to add points as I fish, and then after the trip, review and edit. I can do the former, but am having difficulty with the latter.I would rate the Tracker 1-2 stars, the Bullseye 5 stars, the app 3 stars, and the customer service 5 stars. I've been using the bullseye and app on every trip lately and really like it, but there are definite improvements I hope Anglr Labs is working on.

Save your money
I would not recommend this product. The reason I say that is because it’s just extra work. For example if you don’t turn off your Bluetooth on your phone or someone else has theirs on the tracker will automatically connect and began to drain its battery. So when you’re excited to go out the next day to use it and you get to your spot, the battery is dead. It doesn’t really improve your fishing either, most of it is useless information and the subscription isn’t worth paying for. I used mine for a month before I decided to toss it. I checked the prices again and they went down a lot, so basically I overpaid on a useless fishing tracker. Oh and the app is difficult to use.

Complete junk
Wish I could give it zero stars. Piece of garbage won’t hold a charge for 1 minute. Insult to injury is when I reach out to the company I hear nothing but silence. Save your money!

Don’t buy!!
Rip off!! I found it online for cheaper. I thought it was a cool idea. But it seems not accurate and effective when you’re fishing. Try using a journal you write a lot better!!

it has great POTENTIAL!
It functions as if it is still in beta....it has great POTENTIAL!. But the log book is extremely buggy. I work in IT. you can't auth into the App using google...because the app is using an OAuth flow that Google doesn't allow from mobile devices. Half the options say "Coming Soon" on the dash board. Additional rod mounts are nearly half the price of this package! Some of the dashboards don't load right (Tackle). I got back and went to look at the data from a trip two hours ago..a lot of blank items stillLong story short it is not ready for primetime...wait another year to see what happens...wish I did..coulda got more lures...
