Cool kit, our 9 year old son loved it for his rock and mineral searching.

The kit met the expectation of a simple geology kit, with good quality in the tools. The gloves could have been of better quality for the use by someone going out into nature to extract the treasures being hid with in it, but still worked for the purpose. Overall, a good kit for a person starting out as a rockhound, rock collector, or just hunting the secrets hid in the Earth.

My son teen son loved this mining bundle! He says that ultimately, he loved the pickaxe and hammer the most. The shovel is a telescoping shovel, which he was thrilled to use, however it did not deliver the way we thought it would. It collapsed several times when digging and he felt that though it was a great tool/device it just did not deliver what he was expecting. I recommend this for 13+ teens or older and other than minor shovel mishaps he was happy with the over package it came in. He says he recommends to any teen looking to mine or just go out and dig to have fun and see what you can find!

Bought this for my 9 year old grandson. He loves it and at almost a year it's still works great.

Not sure what I was expecting from a $20 made in china pickax....but I was not expecting to have to do home surgery on my kid. The first day we got this ax, my 10 year old was out chipping away at rocks. LUCKILY he was wearing the eye protection because a piece of the ax broke off and embedded itself in my sons finger. It wasn't just at the surface but completely EMBEDDED under his skin. Luckily I am a Nurse Practitioner and have medical knowledge to have removed this at home, otherwise any other person would have been in the ER. Can you imagine if this was his eyeball? (yes it was the ax and not the rock. It was shiny, magnetized, and we can see on the ax where it broke off)

The media could not be loaded. I bought both sets for a friend and myself. As shown in the photos, the yellow set has some damages and differences when compared to the blue. The shovels are lightweight and identical aside from the cases. Both are convertable to being multi-use tools. Each The blue met expectations for the price but the Yellow not so much.
