been buying loads of stuff from Amazon for years, but rarely bothered to review stuff, but have decided to make an exception for this beauty. i am aged 51, 5 kids and not very technically minded. i have family pictures and videos spread over an old Imac, laptop, two storage/passport devices, and a PC. i have tried manually sorting and saving it in one file, but never could do it. I thought this looked expensive and worried it would be a standard storage device in disguise. But its been fantastic, worth every penny and was simple to use. it did not work when it first arrived, but one quick call to their help desk, spoke to a friendly human who spoke english, fixed over the phone. plugged it in to mac, it quickly got it downloaded, plugged it into other devices, all loaded, managed find 99% of dupilcations, and was then able to add new files to the picture keeper pro and file pictures as i wished. Magic!

I wasn't holding out much hope as this type of software often don't work properly or are difficult to fathom but I must say I was very impressed (I purchased the "Pro" version.It found and backed up over 13000 photos in around 2.5 hours. The filing is in the same format as it was on my hard drive and it is very easy to find the photos and delete any you don't want.I didn't intend to use it for documents but it was so easy I run those as well and now have a safe and full document back up all in one place.Only 4 stars though as it didn't autorun and the instructions on how to proceed if it didn't weren't accurate but it was pretty easy to work it out.

This is a great product and at a fantastic price (Compared to other sites) Found all my photos' scattered all over the place on both PC, MAC and various external pen drives and hard drives. Peace of mind knowing I am not wiping off old photos/memories. The only criticism is the filling of the photos is not always very intelligent. But overall a fantastic product. Highly recommended and easy to use.

I've returned this product for a full refund. I plugged it into my iMAC which has tens of thousands of photos on the hard drive. It started scanning and detecting the images, then after 2 hours and 11,000 images it just stopped. I couldn't get it going again. THere was no obvious course of action/remedy. I tried again from scratch overnight, but it did exactly the same. Checked the Backup folder and there was nothing in it. There was nothing in the brief set up guide to help. While I could have tried emailing and the helpline, it should just work without going through that hassle - and so I prefer to get a refund and try again with a different product. Shame - it promised so much.

Only received this a couple of days ago and it is still working, over 50,000 photos so far and working on the videos. It identified 250,000 duplicates from the PC and other stand alone hard drives I have, and has filed them all very well; so I am very pleased. Now I know that this 'back-up is consistent with the photos I have taken over the years - black and white and transparencies copied from previous formats and can rest assured that a full and proper record is complete. I just need to sort out my own imperfections from the masses - and I can do that as well - given the time!Highly recommended.Gramps

I bought this partly to retrieve photos from my old Macs, but it didn't retrieve anything from a non-Intel product. It did store from more modern ones and was easy to use, but took hours and only stored about 5000, when I expected nearer the 16000 advertised on the packet. It would be better if the names reflected rather more honestly the amount of storage of average picture quality these days, especially if it doesn't even store from a computer that probably might have had photos of poor enough quality to justify the 16,000 tag.

I was a little sceptical over the claims regarding Picture Keeper devices. I was delighted to find that my scepticism was unfounded. I plugged the device in and was asked from where I wanted the photos downloading. Given that instruction, a rapid succession of my photos flashed on the screen and within a very short time I was told that the download was complete. The next time I used it only new photos were downloaded. Getting photos from the device was equally easy - there is even a facility for a slideshow! I would certainly recommend Picture Keeper - in fact I already have to a number of friends..

With 500 g space I was able to upload/backup my phone pictures and videos successfully.

Was a bit pricey, but did the job! Make sure you set the search criteria if you have multiple drives or you’ll be running it twice right off the bat. Very easy to use! It found over 50K pictures and videos and had them saved in just a few hours. I will recommend this to my friends and family!
