The iPhone package came in a plain white box (not the original Apple box) and included a generic lightning to USB-A charging cable. Nothing else is included. FYI, Apple did not include a charger with the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Out of the box, I inspected the item very carefully and up close. It looked just like brand new. Looking from closer than 12 inches, there were no scratches, dents, or nicks anywhere. I did find two very small paint chips on one corner edge of the outer steel frame. One paint chip was about 1/16 inch in size and the other was even smaller than that. From 12 inches away, the paint chips are barely noticeable but I can see them. A cell phone case will cover them up anyway so it's not an issue for me. I fully charged up the iPhone and turned it on. It booted up right away and I went through the setup process and connected it to my wi-fi router. I called my service provider, T-Mobile, and provided the necessary information to transfer the service to my new phone. I had a slight hitch where I could not make phone calls. I found out that I had to click setup in the cellular setting. Once I did that, I was connected to my service provider. Phone calls then went through without a problem. Also, I was able to pair my generic earplugs via Bluetooth very easily and quick. The renewed iPhone shows the battery health maximum capacity to be at 92% relative to when it was new. That is very good. Daily, I have used many apps, checked emails, made phone calls/texting, taken photos/videos, etc., and found minimal battery drainage. I can probably go a few days without recharging. The Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max is bigger and heavier than my previous Samsung Galaxy S9 smartphone so that is something you may consider if size and weight are an issue. I never review anything on amazon but this should be a 0 star product. I bought what was advertised as the best version available — an iPhone 14 Pro Max in "excellent" condition. The first unit they sent arrived with 81% battery health and an aftermarket screen (this model never shipped with anything but Apple OEM). I complained and returned it. The replacement was a little better at 91% battery health, which I was fine with — but it also had a non-OEM aftermarket screen. I figured it would hold up. It didn't. Before you read this, the phone was never dropped, not once, in a case with a screen protector without any damage. After two months the touchscreen started misbehaving and freezing constantly. I took it to the Apple Store, and the only fix they had was a soft reset, which bought me about a month before the freezing came back. By month three it was freezing daily — the soft reset would temporarily revive it, but at that point I'd already passed the seller's window, and they told me they could no longer refund me since it was over 90 days. About a month later the screen froze completely and stopped working altogether. Apple told me there was nothing they could do, and I had to buy a brand-new phone to stay functional. I decided to repair the dead unit myself. Once I opened it up, the truth was obvious: the seller had installed the cheapest, lowest-quality aftermarket screen money can buy. On top of that, whoever did the swap left out two of the screws that hold internal components in place. I replaced it with a high-quality screen for about $200 total, and now it finally works the way it should have from day one. Bottom line: I was sold a phone with a garbage screen and a sloppy repair job, then left without recourse once the freezing started after the return window closed.
