Yale Locks P405 Rimknob Chrome Finish

The knobs are constructed of his, low quality metal and are very poorly finished. They look like they have been knocked up by a 12 year old in a metal work class. Tinny and nasty. Only get these if you hardly ever use the door in question and don't care how they look or feel. Not recommended.

Thin brass, or possibly thin metal with a brass effect/coating.Also lacquered - which i didn't want.Feel cheap and nasty and i never fitted them. Bought an alternative.Cant really complain at a fiver per set, but wasn't the yale quality i was expecting.

I bought a Yale rim lock on Amazon.fr because it was cheaper than the equivalent French products. Unfortunately, the handles I bought for it were flimsy and kept "sliding off" because their spindle was split instead of drilled, and the spindle dimensions were slightly too small. I finally thought of going to the UK site to find the appropriate handles, and I am so pleased: drilled spindles are so much better and this one is particularly sturdy. In the French one, you just drop a nail in the hole but this one has screws which is even better. It also has 2 covers to put around the handle and key holes (I'd already bought one for the keyhole). So very pleased with my purchase. I only wish I'd found it sooner!

I do question the authenticity of these door knobs being genuine Yale. Which I would say is a trusted brand hence why I bought them. They are smaller than the average door knob tacky and way too shiny. I will maybe use them on the bedroom doors because it’s too much hassle returning them when they were only £5.00. I would not have bought them in a shop buyer beware. Not recommended.

In process of altering several doors and fitting new locks and rim lock knobs. Have used this product in the past and it is excellent quality and didn't disappoint this time. The new rim lock knobs arrived on time and in good condition. They also have all the necessary additional parts and screws etc and come with simple informative insructions for anyone who hasn't fitted a lock and knob previously.

Smaller than expected both in overall diameter of the handles and the length the handles project from the door; werenlt quite a perfect replacement for the broken handles they were replacing; also the securing screws although easy to locate are very obvious. Also, the brass is VERY shiny (more than expected) but early days - may fade/tarnish with time.

Not sure why Yale wanted to brand this product, very cheap feeling; I would expected better quality from established brand. But full functional for a minor door and fitted my use
