Husband loved it!
For those with a husband who already has everything and room for no more, this dvd box set provided a magical gift. Husband spend many happy hours watching these. It is the availability of successive episodes that creates in depth enjoyment and immersion of the set, story and its characters.Following on from Fools and Horses, many characters stay true to form of the earlier days and mature nicely. Those characters new to us provide a rural contrast to city dwelling habits of the main roles. The blend of country life with city habits is dealt with skilfully and with sensitive humour. At no point does the story trend sag or lag; each episode from start to finish just works. Little deviations add interest without the plot being lost.A super set of programmes that we very much regret being 'put to bed'.

Great old Comedy compared to today
The Green Green Grass series were funny, the characters and actors and actresses were perfect for the parts and it was entertaining unlike 21st century so called comedies which lack characters who are not funny in my 69 years on this planet.

Brilliant and still more brilliance!
As we both hail from Shropshire, we love this comedic drama with it's stellar cast. John Challis, playing our lovable erstwhile East Ender, Boycie, still lives in this county. The support cast is brilliant and the storylines so believably funny that it brings the past into the present sometimes. His long suffering wife was always fantastic when in episodes of John Sullivan's other epic, 'Only Fools & Horses' and the supporting cast here is just as amazingly funny. From bucolic farmhands to lazy housekeeper and dysfunctional son, this is comedy drama at it's best.At this time, we all NEED laughter in our lives. Recommended.

A Contemporary Comedy Classic!
The characters of Boycie & Marlene, first seen in Only Fools & Horses, were given their own spin-off series The Green Green Grass, set away from Peckham & in the Shropshire countryside. The show ran for 4 seasons and 32 episodes from 2005-2009. All but one show is included in this collection. I'm really enjoying seeing these again for the first time since they were originally broadcast. The whole cast works so well together.I bought this set after the recent death of the actor John Challis, who played Boycie. I'm sure he'd like to be remembered for bringing fun and laughter into people's lives. For me, The Green Green Grass does just that. Having it in my collection will help keep the memory of John Challis alive and is a great tribute to him as an actor.

FOR GORDS SAKE MARRRLENE......
I think the late great John Sullivan did this series very well, its still very funny and still a joy to watch with Boycie Marlene and Tyler, especially when they know the Driscoll Brothers are after them. A great edition to add to my all time greatest comedy of all time Only Fools And Horses. Only slight down side is they had to edit one episode in Series 4 I done it my way, but still a great set to have with your Only Fools And Horses Collection.

Made Me Laugh
I remembered this was a spin-off from Only Fools and Horses and how much I had enjoyed watching this when it first came out.I spent the Christmas/New Year period watching and having a really good laugh at the antics contained within this gem of a TV series. They certainly do not make them like they used to!
