Q: Would the largest size be able to safely stretch to 36cm/14inch in the forearm?

My forearm is 11 1/2. It has a bit of spare but not alot.

Q: Do these keep you warm?

Not so much keep you warm as stop you getting cold particularly on windy days. If you need something for very cold days get the right top is the best move. But when out and about on an average day with short sleeves these are handy to have stowed about you to pop on when the wind chill starts biting.

Q: is the sizing for the width or the length please . I am buying them for my hubby who has very long arms thank you

I have pretty skinny arms so bought the s/m. Unstretched they are 18 1/2 inches long and just under 10" at the top and just under 7" at the wrist. They do stretch a lot but are very very snug on me . I'd buy the next size up next time. I bought them for golf and they are brilliant for early morning chill then pull off when the sun's up. Hope this helps
