Yeah they work bit fiddly to adjust but do the job

Definitely worth the extra expense over the numerous less costly 'manual' offerings available. Aside from the Automaxx feature, the engineering build is generally superior to other similar but cheaper clamps that I have used (admittedly though, they were 'bargain basement' types) and paying a little more would likely have got me a better product! The Automaxx feature is great for most of the covered size range, but the grip force seems to vary enough at either end to require some manual adjustment to maintain the same pressure - nothing I can't live with though. All in all a bit pricey, but in general worth the extra outlay in my view.

I generally like kreg. But maybe they are mass producing and quality issues are being missed my auto max works fine but was quite rusty took an hr to clean it . Sent pictures to kreg. Not really interested.

when they work excellent but after a while they loose grip. i have 2 that i have taken to bits to see what has gone wrong. expensive write off.

This clamp works with the Kreg folding workbench. There is a little slot under the edge of the workbench, and one end of the clamp slides into it. So, you really need to have the workbench for the clamp's greatest efficiency, so you can slide it into that slot. The workbench already comes with one clamp, but I wanted an additional clamp, and this clamp goes into a different slot than the clamp that comes with the workbench. This clamp is easy to use, because it is self-adjusting. Once you adjust it to the pressure you like, it will clamp several various thicknesses of boards automatically. It is easy to use, and holds the materials tightly. You just close the handles to clamp, and open the handles to unclamp it. It is sturdy and strong. I want a safe work area. I use this for clamping materials (wood, vinyl) that I am cutting with a circular saw or jigsaw. I also clamp the miter-box to the workbench, for hand sawing miter cuts.
