Highly recommended for a tasty, healthy and effective weight control program.
Accesible, perfectly well explained and with a diversity of exquisite recipies. Best thing is that meals repeat twice so you reduce time cooking. Gluten, potatoe and rice free, makes you feel light, energized and most importantly with no cravings for extra snacks, while you effectively loose weight.

Love this book
Love this book...Go Lean Vegan by Christine BaileyAnother brilliant book from the kitchen and pen of Christine Bailey. Valuable alike for vegans, vegetarians or simply anyone who wants to introduce some more tasty veggie dishes into their diet. This book is teaming with educational information but Christine's style of writing has a light skip to it that means everyone can easily read and learn about plant based nutrition - very enjoyable and simple to follow. Also packed with lots of recipes that I cant wait to try! Initially I was disappointed not to see any photos but I find I'm actually reading the recipes more and now getting excited to see how they turn out! Of course, they'll all be perfect as I've nothing to compare them to!!I like the way too, in some recipes, Christine has given the option of adding your own choice of protein powder in if you want to boost your protein intake.Plus there's the added bonus of the 30 day plan (and losing weight!) where there are also shopping lists etc to make it easy to follow.Overall, an excellent nutritional reference book combined with lots of delicious recipes (yes, Ive tried some and as always, Christine's recipes work and taste delicious plus you know you're getting a nutritional punch!)Personally I am not vegan (nor do I intend to be) but I already know this is going to be a valuable book in my collection and I might just use the 30 day plan to have a vegan day once a week - just because I can!

Hard to use
This is the best gathering of Vegan recipes! Normally, I only find a few recipes per cookbook that I like. These dishes are easy and super healthy. The menus are great. The shopping lists are incomplete. The index is hard to use. For Falafel you have to look up chickpeas. If you don't know that falafel is made with chickpeas, you won't find it. You basically have to look through the entire book each time you want to look up a recipe. The table of contents is incomplete, so I typed up my own. And at times it will refer to an ingredient it doesn't even list in that recipe. Likely written for the author by someone who doesn't cook.

Great meal plans!
I just finished week one. The recipes are amazing! Yes, some are time consuming, but the effort is well worth it. Loosing weight and healthy eating takes time and effort! I will weigh in tomorrow to see the results!! I lost 3 pounds!!!

GO lean Vegan
Excellent, the receipes work really well. What I have a little issue with, is the use of leftover, ie. half a pear, 3/4 avocado, etc. Here in Switzerland, food is very expensive. However, otherwise highly recommendable.

Perfect transgression to natural eating.
I found this book an absolute God send. I'm diabetic and for over a year nurses have been trying finding my blood sugars down with no success. After five days on the program I have cut my insulin by half and I feel by the time 30 days are up one on even less.Recipes are good,I like the fact that there ARE shopping lists at the back.I was never one for smoothies, however the ones in the book are far, far superior to shop brought junk. For breakfast I found them filling lasting me through to past lunch. Loved all the recipes.Pluses for me lowered blood suger , weight loss, feeling healthier, eating pure natural food. One anoyance, got the kindle version and finding the recipes is a pain. Would have liked to have seen an index with clickable links to the recipes or in the menu plans.I recommend this book of you are considering becoming a plant eater. Put living things into your body, not dead things.

Visually disappointing
The book cover looks so sumptuous and I have to admit to ordering it without looking too closely, but was disappointed upon arrival. The recipes look good but when there are no photos, it's simply a far less inspiring experience. I like to see a tantalising photo of what I'm about to create. Other than visual disappointment I'm hoping the recipes will prove tasty - if I ever feel like picking this book up again over the many others I have with photos!

Lose Weight - but be prepared to invest time and money
To give context : I've been vegan for 25 years and fat for a lot of that. I've tried points and calorie counting. So 4 weeks in and I have lost 10.5 LB and 2.5 inches off my waist. So this works. However you should know that this is aimed at keen cooks. You must have a high speed blender (the sort that can turn nuts into nut butter of oats into flower); you will also spend near £100 the first week in your healthfood shop - although the stuff you buy will last most of the 4 weeks.Every meal is cooked from scratch with no short cuts - most have 10-15 ingredients. Sometimes it takes me longer to find the ingredients than the cooking. There is quite a bit of waste - eg 1/4 of an avocado and If you are the only one following the diet then not all of the recepies are easy to scale down or freeze. The up side is you do get a lot of variety. Also there are a few mistakes to watch out for in cooking times and Tbs instead of Tsp etc. There is no allowance for lifestyle or BMR and you get 1200 - 900 calories a day, which is quite low for me - I felt quite hungry some days.Having said all the above, I am continuing past the initial 4 weeks as I have lost weight and it is making me stick to 3 meals a day (ish), and there are few other vegan loose weight programmes.
