Woman's Fitting Advice
Woman's Fitting Advice - While delighted with the design, build quality, performance and price of the bag I found that although I was within the height range for the "Short" bag, the fit around the bum and knee area a bit narrow for my sleeping position. I am 5' 4" woman and average to slightly narrower bum and thighs. Lying on my back the fit is fine but I sleep on my side with knees staggered and both touching the mat and slightly bent at the waist. At these places the down was severely squished and reducing the loft.I tried a Regular size and the issue was gone but of course I'm carrying around 8" extra wasted length but the bag is still pretty compact and light. So if you are a woman and a side sleeper you might want to consider the "Regular" even though you are within height range of the "Short".

Poor design and bad smell, questionable down
On the surface you may think that you've come across the bargain of the century by buying this bag. 800 fill power, -18 limit and hundred of positive reviews however...Firstly, this bag smells more like a poultry farm rather than a clean high end sleeping bag. The down is visibly coloured and the stench reminds me of a flock of farm yard geese in the countryside. Despite several attempts to air it out the smell did not dissipate.Furthermore, the bag uses verticle baffles which is supremely inefficient at keeping down in place opposed to horizontal baffles. This is particularly evident on the underside of the bag where the synthetic insulation is close to 0 in some places leaving you potentially dangerously exposed to cold spots. This is possibly a cost cutting measure as more stitching and labour is required to sew in more down segments of a high end bag.Under "Ethics" in their official website of Hyke and Byke is doesn't mention anything about the use of ethically sourced down in contrast to other high end brands. This really makes you question as to where that poultry stench comes from.Summary: you will get what you pay for.

Amazing quality for the price. Very warm and snug.
Genuinely very good. I bought this sleeping bag as the most accessible 5 season down sleeping bag at that price point. It was bought purely for Mount Kilimanjaro and to work at -15/-20C. I was super impressed with it. Warms up very quickly and is incredibly snug. I used it with a liner and was too warm at lower altitudes. At 4700m I used it with a couple of hand-warmers added in. Perfect.

Almost to good
Well delivery was swift, hykeandbyke seem to really care about the product and their customers, which is nice. The water resistant material takes a little getting used to as it has a bit of a funny feel to it, but the quality of the sleeping bag is evident as soon as you unpack it. I've just used this on Dartmoor in January and I found myself having to take all my clothes off and sleep with the bag open it was so warm. Warmest and most comfortable sleeping bag I've ever had.

Excellent sleeping bag
My husband and I both bought one of these for a trip to Nepal in November. Being only 5'2, I originally bought the 'short' size but decided to exchange it for the 'regular', which gave me a little more space and room to turn without wrapping myself up in the bag. There was also room to put my camera and phone and, if necessary, clothes. The large hood meant that I could pull it right over my head and read inside the bag. At night, I occasionally (but not always) put a small duvet over the top for added weight; however, my husband never felt the need for this and never felt cold. When it arrives, the bag is in a compression sac and you need to give it a good shake before using it for the first time. However, it goes back into the sac comfortably and, when you tighten the straps, it is small enough to go into the end of a kit bag or pannier. We were both very happy with the bag and would recommend it, both in terms of quality and value for money. The seller was also really helpful and answered all our queries without any delay.

Buy one… it’ll become your best friend
Being a mountaineer I’ve had all the brands like Rab, North Face, etc - this is now my new favourite sleeping bag. I absolutely love mine. Quality piece of equipment. I’m using mine now to walk and camp from west coast of Wales to the north coast. Phenomenal bit of kit. And I love what Hyke and Byke stand for. They also help poorer countries with micro loans to help with poverty. Plus, these absolutely amazing products are at a reasonable price. Very well made. Can tell they are made with love.

Light as a Feather to Carry & Super Warm & Snug to Sleep in!!
I have to say my business partner whose an avid trekker had his doubts about this sleeping bag due its low price but I used it in sub zero temperatures and it's a definite keeper! Never once was I cold and even when the morning dew comes the outside is damp but inside its toasty and dry. Really happy with this one and taking it to the Sierra Nevada mountains of Spain in autumn it performed a dream! Well happy.

Great warm bag for a good price.
The bag is easy to pack in to the stuff sac if you roll it once then fold and roll again. No draughts at all and a very warm hood. I had water dripping down on it all night and none penetrated the bag, just shook it off. So far I've camped in temps down to - 2 and slept in a T Shirt. Any lower,,fleece would be fine. Well impressed. The longtitudinal baffling works, just need a good shake to distribute the down evenly.
