The Beadsmith Vintaj Ball Pein Hammer, 9.5 Inches, 61-Millimeter Steel Head and Wood Handle, 4-Ounce Jewelry-Making Tool

I bought this hammers to use to adjust traditional bench planes and/or modern Bailey type and similar plains where the built-in adjuster is not working well. It is the perfect weight and size and nicely balance in the hand.Unfortunately the hammer head is loose, which is very annoying in use. I have tried soaking the hammer in furniture oil to swell the shaft but the looseness of fit is far too much for that to work. I will have to take the hammer apart and fit a new wedge. That's a huge amount of hassle for a simple cheap tool. It should have been properly made. A tight hammer head is a basic requirement and this one is very poor.I can't send the hammer back for replacement. I'm overseas and making a return is just too expensive.

Not confident about it lasting too long. The head is already slightly loose after a few days.

It was quite a surprise when they arrived. The sizes are realy.... small. Especially the lenght off the handle. I haven't been able to use it a lot but I do recommend longer handles. (by 2 inches).
