A fabulous large plain pine box that allowed me to create a beautiful memory chest. A little pricey but the quality was fabulous so price excused. The box arrived put together so that's a blessing, hidden hinges were a good touch. The handles were the perfect size to hold it with. I'm so impressed. The pine took wood dye extremely well and the grain came out exceptionally, so beautiful when that happens I think. I also used a satin varnish which again the wood absorbed perfectly and only needed a small tickle with sandpaper to flatten the fibres again after the first coat. Great durability and versatility to the pine box. I ended up replacing the material they used inside the lid to support it when open with a nicer piece of ribbon and this was easy to do, I used small bronze screws rather then the original staples which added a great finish. Really really happy and super excited to gift it now its finished 😊
