Was worried this may be underpowered, but must say it's plenty powerful. Don't use for really tough greens or or chunky bones - but chews through all other food waste, peels and chicken bones.

Really easy to install, make sure you get the right version, this one is the 'AS' version, it stands for air switch. the none 'AS' version needs an air switch buying separately.

This was a very important purchase replacing our food disposal unit that had stopped working. The instructions were reasonably clear; all the parts were present; and the unit is working as planned. My greatest challenge was in finding the correct plastic piping for the various connections.

Purchase necessary because I've just moved. Delivered promptly. Competitive price. Works just fine. The air-pressure switch is an added refinement, removing any risk of electrocution due to operating a mains switch with wet hands. This Insinkerator will grind avocado stones in moments and cope with just about anything except corn on the cob husks and plum stones. It grinds to a puree consistency, too, so little risk of the pipes becoming blocked. I have never had a blocked waste pipe with any of the Insinkerators that I have used over many years. Nor have I known one to jam.

What I love about Insinkertor Waste Disposal units is their standardisation of fittings. This is our third one. The first one was much bigger and we used it for eight years until we moved in 2005 when we had to buy the slimmer one because the big one wouldn't fit our new kitchen. That original one still works and I gave it to a friend a few weeks ago. All he had to do was buy the sink flange and it works a treat, even now. The second, slimmer one, gave up the ghost last week and, within two days, I had the replacement in my hands, fresh from Amazon, and at a price very much in the same ball park as the original! That one was an air-operated version, as is the new one - well worth the money! Fitting it all took about two hours and I used a series of wooden blocks to prop it up as it slipped up into the new flange in the sink. I renewed the plastic drain pipes and did not replace the air-press button embedded in the worktop because it didn't need it. I just plugged the existing air pipe into the bottom of the unit. Well, we're back in business after just two miserable days of putting food in those little green council bags! A very big thank you to Insinkerator and of course, to Amazon, for rescuing us!

15 year old macerator seized and tripped the circuit breaker. This item was physically very similar and was a perfect replacement. The old model 45 was actuated by a separate air switch whereas the replacement had an air switch built in. One puzzle, not having fitted one before, was the provided hexagonal section key for tightening the unit. Being hexagonal section it seemed as if it was an 'allen' key. It wasn't. It was simply a lever to insert into a lug in the upper attachment ring. The instructions didn't explain what the snap ring was for either. It's a ring that snaps in place after the part with the 3 screws is slid onto the sink waste outlet cylinder to give that screw item something to react against when you tighten the screws to make the waste seal. It's difficult relocating that snap ring with only two hands. I used some big blobs of 'blutack' to hold the screw ring up in place temporarily so I could use two hands to fit the snap ring below it. The unit's heavy so you need to support it underneath while fitting. In summary, a good buy and, once I'd overcome the fitting problems, straightforward to fit. Amazon doesn't like links in reviews. I have been looking at this food waste disposal for a while and finally took the plunge. We are a 4 person household, and cook everything from scratch. I have been using it for a few days and practically got rid of the food waste caddy. The biggest challenge was the plumbing configuration for the double sink.

This got me some serious hubby points off the wife. No more smelly bin, grinds and takes away almost anything you stick down there. I’m a plumbing and heating engineer so it was easy for me to install it, if you’re a confident DIY’r just take your time, if you can’t even use a screwdriver then please get a professional to install it.

Il montaggio è tutto sommato semplice se si è avvezzi al fai da te. Smaltisce quasi tutto, ad eccezione degli scarti indicati chiaramente nelle istruzioni: verdure filamentose, gusci di ostriche e ossi di bistecca. Fondamentale l'uso continuo dell'acqua fredda fino a almeno quindici secondi dopo lo spegnimento. Questo garantisce la pulizia del dissipatore e delle tubature di scarico, impedendone l'intasamento. E' davvero efficace e sparisce da casa la busta con l'umido. Niente più cattivi odori e l'impegno a portar fuori il sacco con gli scarti alimentari, sempre a rischio rottura. Unico neo è un po' rumoroso, ma in genere l'operazione dura meno di un minuto. Una volta fatta l'abitudine all'uso di questo dispositivo non se ne può far più a meno.

Je suis Français et je vis en Suisse... La législation oblige à faire le tri, les sacs de poubelles sont taxés. C'est mon épouse qui a eu l'idée d'acheter un broyeur d'évier et nous sommes très satisfait. Il marche très bien, tout y passe et même les os de poulet. Je ne mets les noyaux de pêche mais les restes d'annas, les pellures d'orange, les pellures de potiron (bien dur) ça passe sans souci. Pour l'installation, c'est très facile. Je ne suis pas plombier. Il faut juste anticiper quelques changements des tuyaux et acheter le nécessaires le cas échéants. Pour ma part pour éviter de scier les tuyaux d'évacuation, j'ai opté pour un tuyaux flexible (accodéon) pour relier le broyeur au siphon. Je recommande sans souci.

Le ramassage des ordures ménagères est passé à une fois toutes les 2 semaines ici. Résultat : les poubelles qui pourrissent pendant parfois un mois (il suffit d'être absent le jour du ramassage). Avec cet appareil (que j'ai découvert chez des amis de l'autre coté de la terre) quasiment tout passe dans l'égout. Il s'agit d'un modèle d'entrée de gamme, un peu bruyant et pas ultra puissant mais il fait très bien le job. Dans les aspects moins positifs, il faut une prise électrique Anglaise (ou un convertisseur) sous l'évier (ou une rallonge). Le montage est assez facile mais demande un peu de sens du bricolage et parfois des adaptation de tuyauterie d'évacuation...

Ho preso il tritarifiuti per risolvere un fastidioso problema della pendenza degli scarichi in cucina (pendenza minima, a volte basta un chicco di riso per intasare tutto), detto questo,non volevo spendere tantissimo, per cui mi sono buttato su questo, venduto al momento del mio acquisto, a meno della metà di altri modelli. Onestamente mi aspettavo arrivasse un "giocattolo" in plastica, ma al momento del ritiro del pacco mi sono dovuto ricredere! Ottima la qualità, ottimo i materiali, e con "un peso specifico" di tutto rispetto, anche l'idraulico che l'ha montato non credeva che il visto di acquisto è stato inferiore a 150 euro!!! Se devo proprio trovare un difetto, posso solo dire che forse, rispetto a prodotti ben più costosi, è un po' rumoroso, ma ci si può convivere. Consigliato e finalmente addio allo scarico della cucina che si intasa un giorno sì e l'altro pure!!!

Produit correct. Beaucoup moins bruyant que mon précédant (malgré les commentaire que j'ai lu ailleurs). L'interrupteur pneumatique est bien inclut dans ce modèle (with Ait Switch). La prise est UK et j'étais conscient (je ne me souviens bien si c'était dans la description, mais dans des commentaires) et donc, j'utilisé un adaptateur que j'avais (sinon, il faut envisager de l'acheter (ou changer la prise si vous êtes bricoleur (attention à la garantie)). Tout fonctionne parfaitement après un an et demi. Le produit me semble de bonne qualité. Je mets 4 étoiles car il faut confirmer sa durabilité avec plus de temps d'utilisation
