Fan-Tastic, a doddle to fit.
I bought a cheaper fan before finally buying this beauty. With the first fan I found it impossible to get the ceiling rose flush with the ceiling enabling me to fit the fixing screws due to the too small area to fit in the remote receiver and wiring. Eventually the fan slipped off the built in hook, dropped on the bed below and snapped one of the blades. Back to Amazon to buy a new one, I chose the Aireryder because the ceiling rose looked a lot bigger than the previous fan. The Aireryder arrived the next day and as the wiring was already in place, in just over an hour was up and running. A couple of things that potential buyers may find helpful follow. 1, the remote infrared eye stays inside the ceiling rose, I thought it would have to be visible but as there was no provision to allow this it was left within the rose and works perfectly. 2, some reviewers suggested that it was impossible to fit the blades after the fan was fitted to the ceiling. Because of my bad experience with the previous fan I thought I would try. I used a screwdriver with a magnetic tip, using a bradawl I aligned the first hole of the blade with the tapped hole in the fan unit then screwed in the screw just tight enough to allow movement of the blade. Once the first screw is fitted, using the bradawl, move the blade until the second hole is lined up with it's tapped hole then screw in the second screw. Same process for the other three blades. Once all blades are fitted fully tighten all of the blade screws and job done. As for the fan, the remote works fine even from a distance. It has three speeds. Slow and medium, the fan is all but silent. On the highest speed the noise does ramp up mainly due to air displacement. The fan works perfectly on medium keeping us comfortably cool. My advice is don't buy cheap, like me, you may live to regret it. The Aireryder is quite expensive but it's a quality fan that is easy to fit, exceptionally quiet and very efficient.

Very quiet. Works well
Set aside 2 hours to install and beware that it is heavy - MUST be fitted to wooden rafters or solid ceiling. Has a bit of a wobble on max setting that we could not remove even with the supplied trimming kit but not a problem as we won't use this setting - it would freeze you in minutes as it is very strong. Works fine at the other 2 settings. Low setting is inaudible, medium gives a slight hum but still very quiet. Elegant design and low profile so suitable for use in small rooms as well as large. The description and manual don't say but you can switch the light on from a wall switch and then use the remote to control the fan (and/or the light) afterwards. Alternatively you can leave it permanently powered and just use the remote all the time. The remote is a bit clunky but works fine. Overall - Recommended.

Lovely fan just as I hoped for!
Fan looks lovely and fits perfect. Not at all difficult to fit in fact very impressed with all the pre made wiring loom that you can just snap together making the whole install quick and easy. Runs silent at low speed and barely audible at medium speed, obviously at high speed it's shifting a lot of air so can be heard. The only disappointment is the remote control that is cheap & nastily put together (Battery compartment lid barely fits and has gaps around it plus the centre seam around the sides don't line up, if I didn't know better I'd say the remote looks a bit melted). Fortunately the remote is not what stands out about this fan, it looks great so I can overlook the rubbish remote.

Heavy to lift, lovely piece of kit, would recommend
The media could not be loaded. The wiring is too long i had to trim them back , but that being said it is reasonable easy to mount. Use all four mounting holes and change the screws for better quality, the heads on the ones provides are shallow. Mount the wings before heaving the fan up, it makes it heavier but fitting them when the fan is mounted is problematic. The glass dome is semi opaque i fitted two e27 9w energy savers and that light is about right. This fan is fantastic when its installed properly, near as damn to silent and powerfully moves the air around with ease. Low level is the quiet level with juat a gentle breeze, medium is adequate at cooling the room, but when it’s hot hot hot full blast is excellent, despite the minor thyristor hum. In my opinion its a super fan worth the money i will probably get anothe three for the other large bedroom and the lounges.

Not blown away
This fan was bought for our master bedroom, which can get stiflingly hot during the summer months.PROS- Lovely finish- Reassuringly heavy (bear this in mind when deciding where to mount your fan - must be attached to a joist)- Incredibly quiet even at full speed it is barely audible if balanced correctly- Ease to fit, but really needs two people to make this achievable- As per other reviews, fitting the fan blades is incredibly fiddly so it's a very good idea to fit these BEFORE you attempt to mount the fan to your ceilingCONS- First item supplied was an open box customer return (promptly replaced by Amazon)- Remote is unresponsive and needs a couple of presses to register the necessary commands. It also looks awful, like a mid-1980's American TV 'clicker', which also takes 9V batteries...not particular convenient- Underpowered - whilst this does not sit directly over our bed, it's not that powerful and doesn't generate enough of air movement at LOW and MED speeds, the angle of the blades does appear to be quite shallow so this could explain the lack of air movement- I had to replace our old LED dimmer switch (a dimmer is not really suitable for this item anyway), to a 1 way, single gang switch for this to work
