Overall I am extremely pleased with this build. OK, it is not as perfect as Lego brand for the following extremely minor reasons. I feel this build wasn't as sturdy as a Lego build during construction. I think Lego puts in a lot more underlying support; however, the finished product is quite sturdy. I did have a single malformed piece; fortunately, I live near a Lego store and it cost me less than 10c to replace the malformed piece (it isn't a terribly uncommon piece, so many builders might have a spare). I'm sure the company would have replaced it if I had asked, but it wasn't necessary. I thought the instructions were very clear - It did take me a quick minute to figure out how the lighting mechanism works, but once I did, the instructions were very clear... I just wasn't getting it =).Now, compared to Lego, I thought the addition of a lighting element was awesome! Normally you have to pay extra for light kits, and although it was only a single light, it adds a tremendous amount of value. I only wish they had figured out a way to also illuminate the tiny lantern at the base.There backside has a section where you can attach a motor to automatically turn the lighthouse light (not included, but the supporting mechanics are there). Otherwise, you do have to use a small dial to turn the light.Would buy this brand again. And again.

This was a fun build and the model is sturdy in parts but the sides fall off easily. The directions are a little tricky in a few parts and I had to rebuild because I couldn’t see where a part went in the diagram. I could look ahead and fix it but it was a little frustrating. The parts are decent and there were no missing pieces. I struggled to get the railing at the top of the lighthouse to hold but sod get it on. It looks good without it if you can’t get it to work. You turn the top of the lighthouse to turn the light off and on. You can also replace the lighted brick with non lighted brick build that is cute. I liked the end result a lot. Definitely displayable.

This is the third Enjbrick book I have purchased and probably my favorite. It's a great scale replica of the big Lego lighthouse that takes a fraction of the space and money while having the same display value.The build instructions are clear and easy to follow. The parts are good enough. I did have one missing piece but I was able to work around it. The instructions had a way to contact the manufacturer for quality control issues but I opted not to bother as the missing part was not crucial to the build.

Simple instructions, all pieces accounted for, functions very well (mechanical innards). Looks very nice once completed. Overall this was a great set for the price, would recommend!

This is not the first generic lego kits I've built but it is the first one I haven't enjoyed building. Unfortunately, the illustrations are only shown in 1 odd perspective and it is very challenging to see where the pieces belong. This is a case of you get what you pay for!

All pieces were in set clearly marked bags and functional light piece. Very fun and mildly challenging

...the pieces didn't always fit together properly. The gear mechanism is brilliant but the directions weren't clear so I couldn't get it to work. The problem is you don't find out until step 133 how long the axle needs to stick out to get the gear to rotate the searchlight, and if you didn't make it long enough, you have to tear the build apart all of the way back to step 58 to fix it. I didn't care enough about the feature to backtrack 2 hours to fix it. Also, there are 2 different searchlight options (which is cool) but they presented it inanely in the manual. I built the first option thinking it was the only option and then was guided to tear apart the last 7 steps and redo it the new way. Why not give 2 paths without having to backtrack?! That being said, it does look fantastic (hence the **** rating).

This has a light brick that will stay on continually....there is a movement that you can turn the light in the lighthouse. There is also an alternative to place a non lit light to move in this set. Great set, great price, BUT, there (I can not find) a way to turn off the lighted brick in the top light house. Changed to the non lighted option to save the battery. Overall, well constructed, and fun to build.
